82 goals in 157 starts - impressive at any level.
Fair enough if he was younger but he's had one decent season at league two level so far and will turn 27 shortly after this season ends. 157 starts is pretty poor for his age and this season will be only his second decent season if he keeps his current form up. It might be that's he's a late developer but given that he struggled to score one in the last season I'm not entirely sure that label could be given to him.

SD wants him at a knockdown price. Wigan know we desperately need a striker.

See you January 31st. Nothing will happen until then on surface. Behind scenes they'll both atogonise each other for a couple of weeks.

Grigg is happy at Wigan. I worked with his cousin, a Man Utd supporting Brummie who works/lives up here. (So random you know I have not made it up) I asked him about the potential move. His reply was that the feeling is we were a million miles away from Wigans valuation and it would take a 'very very very good offer for Wigan to accept'

I think there is now but not in the past which we are seeing the outcome of now, with him probably moving on. Bitter pill to swallow but we may (looking likely) have to.
Tbh this episode reminds me why I’d like to see the back of cattermole on balance. We’d be far better able to reward and retain young players like Maja without his wage hanging round our neck.
