There is no chance we could get Moore! Barnsley would never sell to us at this stage at of the season and he would easily cost £4mill.

£2m for a League 1 standard striker is far too much, in my opinion. If we're being held to ransom to that extent, I think it's time to pull our horns in, hey a couple of decent loans in & do the best we can with what we've got. Wyke still has plenty time to prove his worth & Surridge (if it's him as one loan) looks pretty good to me. As a wild card option, I don't think it's too insane to consider trying O'Nien playing off Wyke. He's got bags of energy, gets stuck in, has a bit skill & pace & an eye for goal. If we pay £2m for a League 1 striker, we tell everyone the same old piss take party is still in full swing.
not if it gets us promoted how much would it cost if we don't go up this season

Eh? It’s clear we’ve had targets and offers in, you can’t force teams to sell.

Aye, pathetic offers by the looks of it for the most part. We sent Sinclair back and knew Maja was leaving 3 weeks ago yet still haven't signed a striker to replace either of them. Simply not good enough. We've seen it all before and yet again we leave it to chance on the final day. But obviously nothing at all negative can be set about the current owners...

When you say ‘by the looks of it..’ what do you mean?

Deadline Day: Sunderland bid £1.5m for Will Grigg - but Wigan say they value him at £3m!

Why do people trott out this shite? We’re all concerned about getting a striker in ffs. It’s clear there has been a plan with targets etc. Seems harsh to blame the club for other clubs digging in and not wanting to sell.

Exactly what happens when you sell your only goalscorer a week before the window shuts.

Downie said we had offered what Wigan asked for twice last week so they’ve doubled their asking price since we got desperate.
