All seems strange to me? No bid tabled yet advanced talks? Another report saying they have an agreement with the player but PSV have yet to receive an offer?

Now am I wrong in believing that the way these things work is club make offer, club approve bid and allow said club to discuss personal terms with the player?

Or we did have serious interest in but were priced out or didn't see the value, but knarr can't have the narrative that they got a player we were interested in man.

It's not very worrying to me at all. IF, we were interested in him, we've decided he isn't worth what they/him want.
If we rated him highly enough, I'm sure we'd pursue it so it's probably best we don't, if it means the strengthening of other areas could be affected.

Advocaat will know him very well and would have pushed the boat out to get him, if he is/was worth what is required.

I'm sure that wouldn't stop someone from signing him but you do sometimes wonder why it takes so long - meet the prices, aware of players wage requirements - if it's a goer what's stopping them?

That's what I thought, how can you let a player of that quality go to the Mags when we know ourselves we need a top class playmaker in midfield? We should be pushing the boat out for this lad. I mean Short has time to turn it around as the transfer window is still open but I do feel that letting this signing go is not good news unless they are planning on going for better than Wijnaldum like and that is unlikely because they wouldn't come anyway. The people on here being calm about it will soon turn to panic in a few weeks if the quality isn't here.

MA pulls this stunt year after year and people still fall for it. Many were wanking off after he spoke to the cameras and thought he was gonna do stuff, when in reality he was saying, " protest all you want, I'm going nowhere, you mugs.".

What do you know about his 'quality'?

Is the fact that he could potentially go to Newcastle the reason for the hysteria? What they do has no bearing on us whatsoever, until we play them
 
Have the Mags been done yet for an illegal approach? Havent read all pages but to me if a fee has not been agreed with clubs but advanced negotiations with the player, is that not tapping?

He is 1 of the best in the Dutch league, his playmaking skills is very good with him picking out passes with around 85% accuracy and can also chip in with a few goals. Yes he hasn't played in the Prem but given his calibre he would transition quite well to how we play in this league but only time will take and the gamble will pay off for Newcastle if they do end up signing him. Of course, nobody on here is going to like him going to Newcastle considering the beginning of this thread everyone was salivating at him coming here, they'd be lying if they said otherwise. We will know where we stand in a few weeks time with what quality we have but we need a decent playmaker with vision.
