Without an end product. Yes the side was tactically ineffective but that’s when your individual difference makers need to produce.

The set up didn’t highlight any of the strengths of the front four. Diamond running away from Hume nullified the only improvement he’s got over McFadzean.

All in all I don’t think the majority of players were 100% comfortable with their roles and responsibilities. Add in a lack of energy and you get that sort of performance. Not a lot of leadership on the pitch.

probably had the only real end product in the first half performance save a decent mcgeady cross
Jobs for the boys

he puts his drinking buddy from league 2 mid table forest green on the pitch and leaves maguire out the squad

1.77ppg when Parkinson was sacked and 1.77ppg now

Not quite right for this season. But it’s basically 1.7 under Parkinson compared to 1.8 under Johnson. Lose to Blackpool and they’re pretty much level pegging in terms of PPG. Now to me, that isn’t a clear and obvious improvement, we are talking cigarette paper differences here.

The way people are talking we were twenty points adrift under Parkinson and Johnson has performed miracles. It’s just simply not the case.

I do wonder how many of those coming out of the woodwork to defend Parkysaurus actually watch the games?

last two performances aside we have been far better, and far better to watch, since Johnson arrived.

I’m not even sure why we are still talking about Parky other than some would rather be right than see us do well. Living in the past.

I’d be going for a big reshuffle before Saturday/Tuesday. Maguire back in if his head/fitness is right. Jones is too inconsistent and Diamond is very raw. We need to control both as we did vs Portsmouth and Ipswich away.

Can I just add that Im not defending Parkinson. He was shocking and had to go. The point is, the improvements made haven’t been as significant as some are saying; in fact they’ve barely been significant at all.

Up until tonight, I’ve watched every minute of Johnson’s tenure. We’ve had a very good half against Lincoln, Doncaster and two good halves against Portsmouth. We’ve won some games ‘professionally’ and really scraped some others. It’s been very, very fractionally better than what Parkinson offered up. The difference, in my opinion, is McGeady being recalled. He makes us better to watch. That’s about it.

Disagree completely. We aren’t blowing teams away like we did under Reid but we are far better to watch and often win comfortably in terms of performance.

I seriously considered picking in watching us under Parky it was so bad and even the wins were lucky.

The same can be said about some of Johnson’s wins too.

These same type of comments were being made after Parkinson’s winning run last season too. We weren’t very good then either (in fact we did blow a couple of teams away during his winning run!). If similar performances and PPG are offered up for the rest of this season and the start of next, the natives will be very restless. Obviously I hope that they don’t.

Can only keep telling you I disagree so many times.

We are far better under Johnson who has on many occasions identified problems and fixed them. Parky is a gormless twat.

Aye, we’ll leave it there and just agree to disagree. I think the stats to date back my argument up fairly well but you know what’s said about stats.

Here’s to an upturn in form

Both statements are correct. Mine was a direct comparison from when Parkinson was sacked to where we are now. Yours is a comparison of the 2 managers records this season which is more relevant.

We aren’t far better we are pretty much identical ppg wise now as we were when Oarkinson left. You may prefer how Johnson plays but 26 games in he has yet to get meaningful improvement in the league. And Parkinson managed to get as good a results without McGeady ;)

Before kick off , reading the thread, it was nearly unanimous a positive vibe. Post match, posts about not even getting to the play offs.

We were 13th and are now third. Ppg or whatever that is an improvement.

we were over 15 points back of the top team back then. Sorry but I cant accept that is not an improvement

We play far better football and aside from the last two games we were doing better as well. I can actually see what Johnson is trying to do while parky just went through the motions. You can also stop pretending not playing mcgeady should count in the ***** favor anarl.

What we need is mcfadzean slicing it into touch everytime he gets the ball, that should get us a couple if goals.
Twat.
Did this guy ever take a touch and then pass? 😂 he just seemed to smash it forwards every single time like it was a hot potato. At one point Geads looked so frustrated at his touch!

I thought they might get a draw because teams in a relegation battle are fighting for their lives. But having taken the lead again..we go on to lose. Bloody wheels falling off here man/ different formation again?
