We continue to gift wrap promotion to our rivals.

Granted Barnsley and Luton were decent at this level, we still bottled it with it in our hands.

If we hold our bottle in crunch games last year (Cov, Gillingham, Bristol Rovers) we go up through the ppg debacle.

And finally in the one of the poorest league one seasons for some time we let a team managed by the loathed Grant McCann and fellow bottlers Peterborough sail into the sunset.

The common theme is the core of this team remain the same sackless melts that have got us to within an inch of the automatics each of the three seasons before combusting.

Mind the managers football manager esque four changes at a goal down do nothing for the flow of our apparent game plan.

Happy days!

Bristol City fans warned us, Johnson will never get Sunderland out of this league, if a manager can't motivate a team in those circumstances he should find another job, 1-2 flattered us Wigan could easily have won that game by 3 goals

That was shocking. You just can't let someone drift about unmarked in that position. Twice that lad just walked into the back post/6 yard box.

Because he thinks he's clever.
He's more of a coach than we've had since we've been down here. It's something that we've really missed since being here. That being said he does get himself caught in some mental cul-de-sacs. The refusal to go with a 4-3-3 with Leadbitter at the base is baffling.

That was a f***ing insult to the Club, the shirt and its loyal fans,
We completely folded , bottled it and just handed Wigan their second win against us.
Weve never been second all season and this team needs gutting, some have these have now failed for three years in a row while Luton, Barnsley, Rotherham, Wycombe etc etc can go up.
Pathetic !

data shows were the third highest scorers in the league..and have the joint second est defensive record in it..ie we are where those stats say we should be...and those departments arent letting us down..the midfield must therefore be an issue

He comes across like Bob Mortimer doing train guy. Lots of nonsense quips and words that don't mean anything new or different but he likes the sound of it and thinks he's clever as a result. Difference is Bob Mortimer is taking the piss out of folk who sound like that
That patter about sharks was very weird.

That 2nd half was terrible and this 4 substitutions in one go only serves to unsettle and confuse...LJ must take his share of the blame for tonight.

He was never the saviour in my mind. He's still no idea who his best 11 is.

Shambolic
He wasn’t in my mind either but we were the form team in the league over the last 25 games that’s no fluke. These players have got a lot to answer for as well not just the manager.

What is it about this club? Always the same no matter who the players or manager are. Once we have anything in our hands we fall to pieces
This isn’t true. When we have a manager who knows what his best team is, who gives the players belief and confidence, and who knows how to pick a winning style of football and then stick to it, we get the job done just as many times as other clubs, in fact probably more so. Reid, McCarthy, Keane, Poyet, Advocat, Allardyce, all got something extra out of players at the end of the season when the pressure was on. Ross and Johnson have been so far out of their depth when it really matters that the team has no hope. FFS, the players must have no idea who is playing, what formation, what style from game to game. Man City players would struggle with that level of uncertainty at the pressure end of a season never mind f@@king league one lads!
When you employ professional losers that's generally what happens.
Unfortunately this.

Does that mean he’s blameless for the utter shite we’ve seen recently?

Doesn’t mean he’s entirely responsible either does it? Unless he’s telling Power to leave his man at the back post?

He came in mid season, with a lopsided squad, suffered a defensive injury crisis and for me he’s done/doing a decent job.

That doesn’t mean his selections and tactical set ups don’t frustrate the hell out of me but have a bit of perspective.

Lee Johnson isn’t to blame for the last three seasons and as difficult it is to see after the last to abject results he’s still moved us forward.

The frustration is the two wins in the last couple of game’s would have had us bang on the front foot
