Why has Foden gone from hero to zero?

How do you go from being last season's MVP to unused, forgotten substitute in the poorest City team of the last 7 years.
Does he need to move on?
It's a mystery to me.

I thought Man City's celebrations after they won the champions league seemed a bit mental. They seemed to be on a week long bender, possibly longer, jetting from one place to another. Sure enough they've been cack this season. Fair enough celebrate, but a few of them seemed to go on like morons.

He's a luxury. Not good tall enough, fast enough or powerful enough to be a forward and not creative enough to be a winger. He's good playing somewhere in the middle of those positions. That's fine if you dominate play, but City don't anymore and once they play with a proper striker in Haaland, they don't have spare places to give to someone who doesn't quite fit.

Haaland was there last season and Fiden was MVP.
My city supporting m8’s say rumours are personal matters ?!?! No idea what
The strain of being father to three by the age of 24?

I haven’t really watched them this year, but I think de Bryune and Rodri have been huge misses for them this season. Kev pulled the strings a lot last year which allowed Foden to play so well as he was being fed handsomely. And Rodri was a colossus in both defence and turning the ball over, which allowed Foden to play an attacking game against an unset defence.

Even before Rodri he had Fernandino playing that role, imho, Kovacic simply isn’t up to the job at that level, so I think Foden is maybe only as good as the players he is around.

Every show pony needs a work horse.

Tbf they won the Champions League two year ago.

I know mate, but it made me think whilst it was an incredible achievement, it seemed a bit unprofessional. No doubt celebrate, get drunk, but it seemed like a never-ending session, made me think if they have a few bad influences in the squad (you just know players like Ronaldo wouldn't have taken it that far), which is bizarre considering what they achieved, but they've gradually gone down hill.

Perhaps they've lost the motivation and it's as simple as that. For a period I thought it might have had something to do with the charges.

The man on the 72 hour drunken romp was Grealish.

Foden, Bellingham and Grealish. All 3 have had quieter seasons this season.

In trophy terms anyhow
Not just in trophies.
Their performance levels have definitely dropped.
Not so sure about why Bellingham has been so "average".
But both Foden & Grealish have had more injuries.
Also Pep has persisted with older players (Gundogan, Bernardo & KDB) who have also had inferior seasons...

City are just massively out of sorts from top to bottom, last season's performance levels would have won the league again.
