WMS Who Owns Sunderland AFC?

Just looking at the pathetic club shop Christmas opening hours (basically closed the week leading up to Christmas). It's scary that something like this has Donald and Methvens grrubby paw prints all over it. Almost as if they're still pulling the strings.

It's open 5 of the 6 days before Christmas Eve ffs.

donakld has no say in it..and when he did have a say in it it was open five days! so your literally accusing donald of doing the one thing he didint do when he was in charge now that he isnt in charge!
Davison is the decision maker on SAFC operations.
Crewe have the lowest wage bill in this league...so the shop being open isnt helping them generate the revenue to pay people more, which is the sole purpose of it.
For a business it is, for someone who is investing in a football club purely to make a quick buck it is. But to the fans it's not, its more than that. My dad has always bought me nephew a strip from the club shop at the first home game of the season he wasn't able to do that this year as it was f***ing shut. He's in his 60s he's done it for years. Doesnt make a difference to the clubs finances as he still ended up buying it later on but it made a difference to at least two fans day on the first day of the new season.

so the owner now has to subsidise the playing squad, the academy, the tickets and now the shop as well?
f***ing hell....

It's hardly subsidising it. I'm pretty sure it would have made its money being open on the first day of the season.
But aye, to us it's not just a business like it is to you. Little things like that matter.
if it would have made money they would have opened it..they have access to the figures and costs..you nor i dont.
KLD does regard it as purely a business..he has made that clear

You do realise every other professional football club in the UK have a shop open more than we do, do you think all of these owners are subsidising the shop or just Sunderland’s?
no i think lots of other clubs have mutiple outlets not just one so theincremental cost of owning one shop is much lower..its called economies of scale..
and without access to the figures for turnover and profits an loss you cant comment on what other owners are doing. The exerts on here tell me KLD is a man who has extensive football experience and knowledge...well...trust his knowledge.

You’re not a Sunderland fan. We’ve been through all your lies before. Can’t be bothered to point them out again. No idea why you spend so much time on here, only you know. It’s odd

businesses moving away from bricks and mortar retail and onto online retail is happening the world over..
its something a person of KLDs age would find totally normal...and is thr work of the clubs executive directors, KLD and Davidson..no one else has the authority to do anything

yes he did, but he didnt say who done the asset stripping? was it the BC corporattio and the people from Dell with their loans? Cos KLD wouldnt be stupid enough to call people asset strippers then go into business with them would he?
If the way the shop has been run is a function of them moving their business online then they want to sack their retail/ e-commerce team. Anyone even remotely worth their salt would see the benifit of a ‘flagship store’ even if it’s just as a background to their digital work, although that wouldn’t be the case.

I would also suggest the team needs sacking for the current online shopping experience and ranges.

let’s face it, the club have a load of old stock to clear and don’t want to put in big advance orders for merchandise to create a proper offering.

this club is pathological in its ability to waste revenue generating opportunities.

the point of a flagship store is it be one of many..not one of one...

harrods in london may not make ahuge profit..but it needs to be like that because they license the name all over the world..

this is always brought up when people cant refute the point ive made..pathetic really..

Not even sure what point it is you’re claiming to have made. However I can see you’re all over yet another thread about the owners.

We’ve already established you’re not a Sunderland fan. We know that. You know that. I’m not going to argue on that again.

so KLD must be a bit of a prick if he is going into business with asset strippers at safc and has one of them on the baord? He doesnt sound like a good owner? This baord is full of fantasists, use logicc for once in your life.
Isn’t a fake Sunderland fan a fantasist ?

When I worked in retail, it was drummed in that the three most important things were location, location and location. And the location of the club shop is about as bad as it gets. If it was open, say, 6 days a week, then for at least four of them it wouldn't get sufficient footfall to generate takings let alone gross profit) that would cover the wages and overheads for that day. The ground is inconvenient for a casual trip, and the shop is in the least convenient part of the ground. This is the conumdrum/

It’s the previous owners that’s very much part of this discussion  You can’t help but show up on anything that mentions them. Academy, finances, shares…

Don’t see you on many other threads. Honeyman. Always see you on Honeyman threads too. Hmmm. His dad? ;)

Show me where he said he bought it ‘as purely a business?’
he said football is a lousy business but sunderland is an exception...
he doesnt refer to football in that sentence as anything other than business..
and he studied sport and business at uni..
