WMS Who Owns Sunderland AFC?

There's a lot of bollocks in that long blog post and as far as I'm concerned is only trying to cause a shit storm.

The club is probably in a healthier place both on and off the pitch now since we've been in league one and probably the season before that as well.

Fans need to stop looking for things to have a pop at and instead just get behind the players, coach and the staff for the rest of the season and hope we achieve promotion.

There needs to be unity not division
Don’t agree, What is wrong with asking, who owns the club.
Why would you want everyone to bury their heads in the sand again, like the last time everyone to a man backed the blaggers, without questioning them and it certainly shouldn’t be a difficult question to answer for KLD imo anyway, if all is as we think it is.

KLD is majority shareholder end of story

The important word there is probably. CW was proven correct on calling out D&M last time, and was absolutely battered on multiple fronts because of it.

Would you rather the club were forced to be honest and people knew it was healthy, or just bury your head in the sand and hope it’s okay?

FWIW I think CW is doing a brilliant job. God knows where we’d be if it wasn’t for him actually calling the club out on various things in the past. This article ensures the club can’t just gloss over it in the meeting tomorrow, because there are too many people waiting for answers.

There won't be unity until people are confident the clowns are an incredibly silent partner with an incredibly low shareholding.

If that's the case then getting it out in the open is beneficial to everyone involved and all this can be put to bed. They could of course have had it all out in the open when the take over went through but chose not to.

I'm sure KLD will have accounted for it. Donald needed to sell a lot more than KLD needed to buy. If Donald couldn't even get us out of this league he was going to lose a fuck load of money, it was pretty much a buyer's market. I'll be much happier when he's gone but I just feel we could end up getting bogged down by the parachute payment thing again when there's other things to focus on. The money should either have come back in, or kld should have accounted for it in the purchase price. Main thing for me now is hearing more from kld about what his ambitions for the club actually are, and what short term goals he's set to go alongside the long term plan. We need to aggressively get out of this league, and yet we seem to be ambling towards another likely play off. January window approaching we need to see something
I certainly agree with the last couple of sentences. It will be very telling in terms of how essential we deem getting promoted is this season.

Pathetic comments like this mind.

There’s nothing remotely negative in asking some questions. We’ve been here before and people have learned absolutely fuck all.

Ah ok. I must have just made the assumption that when someone takes a suspicious and 'negative first' stance on pretty much everything relating to the club, this was also one of those occasions. My mistake.

Not sure the parachute payments are still relevant tbh, not if KLD has done his homework. I mean, let's say for arguments sake Donald owed £20m to safc. KLD bought the club, if he knew Donald owed £20m he'd adjust the price accordingly. So, perhaps wrongly, I've assumed that either way that's been accounted for now
When can I read the article lads any links ?

Thanks mate. I'm not alone then.

I'm wading through this myself and I haven't got a clue. Hopefully when I get to the end of the thread I'll have grasped some of it.

Yes it does mate, it helps me. I can totally understand your post.

Oi!

@Confucius

Is this helping mate?
Sorted Zak's Male Parent - (I thought Id put a bit of Johnson speak in there)

The thing is, you said pretty much exactly the same about Donald and Methven when they arrived, and you said that "they had fallen in love with the club", "so much has changed for the better", and "anyone who has digs at them need to give their heads a shake because we haven't had people running the club who care as much as they do in a long time".

A lot of us were taken in - I was initially - but surely we should learn the lessons from that blind faith in believing any old shite an owner tells us, and surely fairly basic questions like who owns the club are fair enough - especially when the same people are still here? Yet you are accusing people asking those questions of "trying to cause a shit storm".

A very simple but absolutely fundamental question needs answered and with clear concise detail.

KLD is majority shareholder end of story

Except it isn’t the end of story. There are plenty other issues that run alongside that one. If you choose to ignore it that’s your business. You’re more than entitled to throw your full and unquestioned loyalty behind the clubs owners if you choose. But don’t be dismissing those who aren’t willing to completely bury their hands in the sand about certain things just because you choose to take that approach.

What if he doesn't own the club? What difference will it make?

Do you need to know, or are you just curious?
