Who is left on the list? I don't think it matters anymore, the decent ones have gone and the ones left will not get this team playing well. I can see us back in league 1, full circle.

This. In times gone by the SAFC job was a coup for managers and as soon as the club identified their top target it was merely a matter of days before he was paraded, scarf in hand.

What on earth are we offering to make the job such a poisoned chalice ?
 
It’ll be a prospective new manager like a John Terry, or someone of that ilk that wants to cut their teeth in management and just happy for the experience. What established manager is going to take us on under our current leadership? They’re financially constrained and by the look of things, a big stumbling block is bringing their own staff in.

If they think the backlash from appointing Beale was bad the appointment of Dodds would be on another level. It would signal the begining of the end. Unless they specifically want folk to cancel Season cards and hound them out of the club they will not appoint Dodds.
