Who is getting relegated?

Aye, and?
It's all in the post so not sure what you're getting at...I said I was surprised we have been mentioned for the drop and then justified why I think I don't think we will be near it next season and believe we may push for a top 10 place instead.

I have yous down for a European spot (if you have a good window). Empty schedule compared to half the league. Then you have the moyes factor and the squad as it stands, as you said.

I think most people’s predictions on here are in hope more then owt else. Don’t think too many truly grasp how massive the step up is, and won’t until a few games in.
I think a lot of it comes from media narrative too, especially recently due to Dyche (who did well for the first 2 seasons) downplaying expectations and suggesting we can't expect anything more than around 15th.

I often see other fans saying that Everton have always just made up the numbers in the PL and are always battling relegation. That was true for a fair bit of the 90's but during Moyes' first spell he turned it around and for 15 years we ranged from 4th to 11th from 2005 to 2020, nowhere near relegation. Only really had 4 major scares in the PL era.

As for Europe next season, I think that will be beyond us. I see the current Top 6 staying as it is, and Spurs and Man United will be looking to bounce back, as well as some very decent midtable teams. A top 10 challenge seems more realistic to me.

Leeds Burnley and Sunderland. All about 10 years behind Brentford and wolves etc.
True.
But realistically that is the gap we have to bridge.
We are looking to recruit quality players; fast and accurate with the right temperament; but there will need to be support staff to make that jump too.
Set piece coaching; fitness and endurance training; even daft things like ball-boy discipline. My lad was asked to join the ball-boy scheme at Spuds (didn't get it as he turned up in his stripes:rolleyes:), but their training on speeding up and slowing the game was an eye opener. Anyone remember that goal Spurs scored in a European game where a ball-boy got the ball to the corner taker so quick, the ball was in the net before the opposition defence even noticed. Training!
There is work to be done all over.

Everton vulnerable too. Got a top keeper like.
48pts last season (top 4 form from Moyes taking over) and season before in what way are they vulnerable?

People never learn do they that Everton don’t do relegation

@South Banker Wolf - replying in this thread.

Sorry mate but your most important player is Pickford. There's no way you are getting in the top 10 if you are signing the likes of Coufal. You scored 42 goals last season only 6 more than Ipswich. You'll be knocking about in the bottom 8 same as us.

I'm not saying we will get in the top 10 just that I expect us to be challenging for it, and may get there if things go right for us and we sign some better players.

Can't see anything currently on Coufal and Tete is the strongest link we have to upgrade at RB. Tete was one of the only RBs last season who nullified NDiaye. We also have Jake O'Brien who can play there and did excellent under Moyes last season.

We need to strengthen up front though, especially now Calvert Lewin has gone, but Beto showed with a run of games he can score goals.

Lots of out of contract players they won't get fees for. 7 or 8.
