No apology needed, 2 posters spent the first page arguing about how we can be lucky but also deserve the win so in a fabulous twist i jumbled all their daft arguments together to make a nonsense post highlighting how daft they looked. It would have been canny clear if you’d bothered to read it like.

Agree mate be very interesting if we can be top of the pile and see how our attendances go, either way our support is faultless and I’m excited for the season ahead.

Yeah they hit the post, but it was in the same passage if play for their goal.

Have you forgotten that they scored from the rebound that hit the post? So it made no difference to the game at all with them scoring 3 seconds later.

I've not said that Wigan were inept, but they didn't really hurt us. Wyke's performance typified so many of his performances for us over 3 seasons. As for "creating a fair bit", how many saves did Burge make? In the first half apart from their goal he never made a save, and in the second half I can only remember a speculative shot that Burge fumbled.

As for luck, it evens itself out over a season but we fully deserved our win.

Did they? 😂

Burge didn’t make many saves, but remember about 10 times them having pullbacks that they hit into our defenders faces, which could have easily ended up in the net. We were messy for 20 mins and very good for 70 mins. No doubt we deserved to win overall, but we definitely had a small slice of luck early on

Could easily have ended up in the net if they hadn't hit defenders faces, were we playing without a keeper as well?

Can deflect anywhere off a defender like that, including the back of the net. Or they could finish it better. And Burge spilled two right back into the middle of the goal. Don’t make our we were flawless
 
We'll play far worse sides than Wigan and I reckon they'll be up there so, on that basis, a really good performance with some quality arrivals to come (hopefully)

But it never happened, all ifs and buts, it did not happen, we won, end of.
