When Tommy Watson scored THAT goal

I thought great but every week is going to be like tonight... it's took 34 games for us to be humbled like we were tonight when every shot they had went it in. We've had a double over the mags and a great season, lets look at the bigger picture..... for where weve been gettng beat off fleetwood, burton etc over the last decade, it s been an unreal season

I thought the same, we were in for a hard season but realistically it’s been easy, could be 3rd by not that much ‘luck’

I think we have been the victim of our own success and the expectation has increased, which is normal. I would have loved to have got that late win at Villa and solidified it last night to be in pole position for Europe, but overall we can’t complain.

Why do people feel the need to make excuses for an attrocious performance.

We’ve done great this season but yesterday was pathetic.
It's not excuses for the performance. It's a counterweight to all the absolute hysteria after the game that basically discounted the rest of the season. I mean come off it people wanting the manager sacked by basically got us safe by 29 games. Then got us another 7 points in the next 5 to leave us on 46 with 4 to go and 4 points behind 6th after being promoted through the playoffs.

Counterweight 🤣

I am not sure anyone has said it wasn’t awful, or made excuses.
We were shit and it was a shit result.
But, the reaction and negativity and toxicity of some, the usual suspects who are nowhere to be seen when we get a result, who are just waiting to pounce when things go wrong, stinks.

Exactly. The performance was shit. It doesn't detract from the overall. People calling for the head of the manager are forgetting the whole season.
I mean I agree that calling for his head (if serious) is stupid…as is this kind of whataboutery. They all need their arses kicked for yesterday, including the manager

Taken 34 games…

This is making excuses…no more obvious example . We were shit but look at the big picture…that’s a very obvious excuse. We were appalling and it’s absolutely fine and to be expected for people to be unhappy with that
What do you mean?

Of course it’s okay for people to be unhappy. I said that.

And I said quite clearly that I didn’t see anyone making excuses, so not sure which bit of me post, thought I was making excuses. There were none.

That doesn’t mean, in the context of what a brilliant season we’ve had, I can’t be a bit peed off with those who wait every game to spread their misery and negativity.

I don't think it's fine that we were rubbish though. People should be disappointed/angry etc. I do think it's unreasonable for people to go to the levels of reaction and advocating for the sacking of Le Bris after the one terrible performance when contrasting it to the whole season. I think that is a reasonable position to hold. It's not like I'm saying the shit performance is acceptable because we've previously been good.

I agree with you…I just don’t see the need to roll out the obvious every 10 minutes after we’ve been hammered
