When is Chris Rigg Day

if there isn’t a manager in place, how can anyone expect him to sign a contract. If that was my boy I’d be telling him to sit tight and see what offers come.

And I’ve no doubt that’s what he’s being told now. This manager recruitment shit show is going to end up costing us millions in the long run

I think he will be among our highest earners tbh, gonna be a 1st team regular next season.
As what? He's not got a defined role yet. Plays as a CDM for under 17s England. Jobe was 17 when he joined us and played every game bar two. Is 'Riggy' going to get his turn this year? It's ridiculous!

I'll say it again, in the hope that the gunts in charge are listening. THIS IS A FOOTBALL CLUB! Your corpoarate tight fisted BS isn't working! Where's the f***ing manager ya wankers!

He needs to be offered a big, long term contract for two reasons:

He’ll be worth it long term and it increases his value at a tribunal if he leaves.

As a fan I just want the club to offer him a decent wedge and for him to sign. And let’s be honest he’s gonna be worth 20k a week easily to the richer clubs and still be a cheap investment

If I was him I would be wanting a decent wedge if I signed and a buy out clause that isn’t astronomical, to keep my options open down the line, because with the lot we have in charge there’s no guarantees the team is gonna improve

I think the maximum for his age is 3 years,so he'll probably sign it and we'll sell him next year.

He'll get his head turned and hes got an easy excuse to leave with the clowns incharge.
Not even a case of having his head turned, if we are serious about investing in youth, it should follow that the youth with the highest ceilings are paid enough that the game time becomes more important than nominal wage rises.

I just hope the club don’t try and get him to sign on the cheap and he leaves
It’s a short career, potentially very short with a bad injury so the lad will have an eye on that too, as we all would

He might be happy here so sign the contact & just wait see who we get as gaffer

We offered certain players from the academy who are in our first team now 5k when they turned 17 without playing for the first team albeit under Short and a different league. United paid Shoretire 20k a week and Gomes in the past over 20k.
Aye. I know a lad who got his first pro the season we were relegated and I think he said he got £1k pw, whereas those who got when we were in the Premier League got £5k pw.

I'm not sure any of our current squad were old enough to sign their first contract then though?

It’s worth noting IF Rigg does go elsewhere, that clubs like Man City and Man Utd amongst others continue to lose there best young players, just like Forson has turned down his contract offer to go to Monza in Italy, all in the players hands.

Actually, I think he may have used Embleton as the example. Forgot he was still at the club!
