Met Billy Hughes decades later when he was Steward of a golf course in Darlo (Blackwell Grange?) and he hardly had a good word to say about SAFC. We cajoled him into showing us his FA Cup winners medal, but he wasn’t enthusiastic about doing so.
Remember being surprised and disappointed about his feelings towards the club.

The club was very poor at looking after past players for a long long time.
Not sure where they are at now but I think during the SOL years they have been quite well looked after. Albeit there was that Dave Watson issue last year, which sounded more like his wife being overly critical after KLD looked after them. All based on what I read on here I stress
