Similar to how the Seaburn Fountain would have worked in a million different places, but not one the exposed North East coast. Good ideas badly executed.It was a good idea in theory but didn't work on a tidal river

The vaux dray by Ray Lonsdale is in a terrible locationDesign flaw, as it collected all the crap that floated down the river in the middle of it and looked rank.
Add it to the monument outside of WH Smiths by the Bridges, the fountain down Seaburn and those wooden balls at the entrance to Roker Park (the sea end) as glorious ideas but ultimate failures.
