Depends on the car as the labour will vary depending on how difficult it is to access it. Buy a French car like the idiot who wears my clothes did and you pa for about 8 hours labour + VAT for them to change the cunting thing

done a few clutches on older polos back in the day when i could be arsed. certainly wernt a bad job, go for it, days graft on the drive.
There's always something gans tits up though isn't there. Do you recall needing any specialist bits or is it just good old nuts and bolts and odd torx bit?

yes always something will go wrong hopefully minor, if it has a concentric slave cylinder (will have no clutch cable as is hydraulic, works off the brake fluid) inside the gearbox change it without question. a decent 3/4 or 1/2 inch socket set, a torx/hex set, some spanners, clutch plate centering tool, jack and most important axle stands will see you away. change the gearbox oil while you are on and check the driveshaft and crankshaft oil seals whilst its apart.

auto data says just under 4 hours labour so if you are handy a day on the drive will do it.

Good point!
2006 polo 1.4
Straight forward enough max £250 I'd say
Hope the part is correct ,not worth the money saved
Garage could supply clutch for about 20% more then they are guaranteed parts and labour
If you have issues with this one you pay fitting again

My clutch went on my old Ford Transit Connect the other night. I'm waiting on a quote but as it's already had a drive shaft replaced just before Christmas and needs the near side one changed as well, 2019 has been a bit of a wallet drainer so far...

Similar dragged the washing machine out the house Friday morning as it was knackered at not worth the cost of repairs and ordered a new one. Clutch went Friday night (although I knew it was coming hoped I'd get a few more weeks).

I can't believe how bad luck always comes along in waves of 2 or 3 things all going wrong at the same time. That van had been as good as gold right up till middle of last month. Sorry to hear you've had the same luck as me!

Was about £250 all in on my old style Micra. Think the clutch itself was only about £25, the rest was all labour.
