Unless I’m missing someone haven’t a clue who bats at 3. Surely not Lawrence or Pope

Love how strong is highlighted there

Stokes could be playing at 3 seeing as Malan isn’t there
I mean Woakes shouldn't play again away from home. So was me trying to find some actual positive from that squad.

Massive tail unless Woakes or Overton play with no recognised number 3 either.

Maybes Lawrence is the one their shoehorning up the order. Wonder if making Root go back to 3.

Even putting Crawley at 3 and giving another new opener a try alongside Lees would’ve made more sense

Dobell saying Root will bat 3. Not sure it’s the right move just to accommodate Lawrence or Pope.

That would be mental given we've relied on Root's runs at 4 for however long now and he's statistically weaker coming in at 3. Root at 4 should be the only spot that's non negotiable

Did they take drugs before selecting?

Lees is the only improvement on Australia. The bowling is weaker.
