West Indies Tour 2022

Had an email from the lassy running the air bnb. Says the bars are currently operating a 9pm-5am curfew but reckons that'll be lifted soon. I assume if there's a curfew in January they'll bring the games forward by an hour or two?

The T20s will be 2pm local time starts.
Hits the UK TV audience at 6pm here.
Booked up for the t20s now so absolutely guaranteed it'll be behind closed doors and quarantine will be brought back.

If not then what a great January in store
I’ve got you lined up for a day in the rum shacks

Sounds tremendous. Everyone who's been keeps mentioning the amount of rum they give you...

I was in a rum shack next door to the Barbados parliament building in 2015 when a copper walked in and had a couple of large rum punches. Got chatting to him and asked if he'd just finished a shift. He said "no, I haven't even started yet" laughed and ordered another rum punch.

In the shacks you buy the rum by the bottle and pour as much of it as you want.

Quarter bottle of rum, half a litre of coke and a tray of ice whilst watching the sunset in the in Speightstown is awesome.

I've decided I'm going over on my own if my mate can't make it. I'm presuming there will be loads of people doing the same tbh.

I put on a daft bucket list thread on here in 2014 that I wanted to see a test match in Barbados. Someone else (who I had met at a SMB footy match previously) picked up on it and after a few messages we found cheap flights from Manchester. I met up with him and three other lads I'd never met before at the airport and went over for the test. Another lad off here (who travelled separately) sorted tickets for the first couple of days and met him out there first evening. All top lads and still good friends to this day.

Also met another few lads through here for the Cape Town test last year and they are top lads and still good friends too.

Try and organise a SAFC meet up at one of the days of the test during lunch.
