West Indies Tour 2022

Tuesday 8 March to Saturday 12 March: 1st Test Match

Presuming it will be Barbados as they have to play at Barbados and Antuiga if there are tests, was told this by the bloke who took me on a tour of the oval last year.

might book it up on BA.

where are people stopping? Not sure to go AI and stop near the gap.

The likes of @Rip Van Fish and @The Lambton Worm have done Barbados plenty and will know more than me.

Personal opinion is to stay away from AI though. Doing all of the local rum shacks etc is class and better than a hotel bar IMO but it depends what you like. I’ve just booked an Air BnB just outside of the Gap.

Yes the rumour I heard was:
Barbados 1
Grenada or St Lucia 2
Antigua 3

There are a couple of test events soon in Guyana and Jamaica.
They are still saying that games likely to be reduced crowds , so make of that what you will

Bit of FOAF this but thought I'd post it anyway. Manager of one of my locals is well in with various ex SAFC players & agents for both current fooballers & cricketers. We were discussing what the venues might be when he suggested getting in touch with one of the agents about it. He got a message back from the agent saying one of the England players had said that the venues would only be announced when the Ashes series had been sorted as its still up in the air due to the pandemic.

Obviously I have no way of confirming this but the player is a current England & Durham cricketer.

I've never been confident of venues being released so far in advance tbh. Each of them are their own country with their own travel/Covid rules so will be difficult to plan with any certainty, if not for the players then certainly any travellers. I'm expecting it to be October before we know owt mesel tbh.

Watch out chaps for the current Covid rules for Barbados.
test three days before you go plus a test at the airport when you get there.
Then its quarantine in your hotel until u get result. Takes 10 to 24 hrs
This may all change though.

Aye, I’ve seen that. The press releases from both WI and England both actively mention supporters though which I’m hoping is a good sign. I’m doing a second test and I’m buggered if it’s 48 hours quarantine!

Get some free cancellation stuff now mate cos lots will be on tonight.

Oh I don't know. Haven't even thought about it. Not recently anyway. This time last year I was sure things would have cleared up, and to an extent I suppose they have a bit, and had this down as my first post covid trip. Its not an easy mindset to change though, this being unsure about going abroad

I totally get your mentality

I can only say been abroad for over a month and it’s been great, no problems. Once you’re there you’re sorted

long haul flight I’ll find strange too

I’m a test man but 5 T20s in 9 days sounds unreal

I would but looks like airlines are still being that's about it, if the BA site is anything to go by. No mention of refunds just vouchers for future travel

BA will be in a really tough position TBF. Howzat Travel aren’t running tours because of their exposure if there are issues.

The way I look at it you’re getting a trip to a great place regardless.

Haven't decided yet cos of stuff happening at home. I booked completely wrong holiday dates for T20's like. Will have more of a gander when I get back to graft tomorrow.

The tour groups are either not running tours at all or only doing Barbados. Not sure what to read into that, if anything. I fancy Antigua or Granada but is there more doubt about those?
