Well done Sunderland

The club has to transform itself to be less of a basket case , less dependent on him before he's going to get any bids from the next billionaire off the rank who wants to put his money where his mouth is and transform our fortunes
The person we need will not be bothered about such minor formalities

The clubs that have transformed, say Southampton, Swansea, even Leicester..did it on a lot less cash than Short has pissed away over the years. The top level management has to have some sort of belief in what they're doing and passion for the game. Short always thought the right first XI manager would sort everything ( the Alex Ferguson model ) . His other hires at executive level all seem to have been cronies

while I think the lack of funds is disgraceful for a club this size and shows the owner up, I've got to say Grayson has done brilliantly within those constraints to bring in players.

I think we're doomed to mid table at best but don't blame the manager for that fact. I just don't see where goals are coming from.

He might surprise me but it looks just as toothless as it did, albeit we will create and miss more chances.

To be fair mate, our squad should be finishing in a playoff place imo.

Agreed Grayson did well given the obvious financial constraints but he has had us playing poor football so far. We look unorganised at the back, we've been bypassing the midfield with laborious long ball play and don't look much of a threat going forward. This for me is Grayson's responsibility to address.

Papy replaced by Wilson
Khazri replaced by McManaman
Williams who is 23 to cover for Midfield where we've been relying on Cattermole and Gibson
Keeping Kone and NDong.

Not a bad bit of business for deadline day.
Agree with all that but we massively needed someone's to hold the ball up up front. Vaughan is indescribably bad

Well pleased with our transfer window activity with no player going out and four coming in:

Two loan players from Derby both midfielders and what we need. Kellan Gordon and Timi Elsnik. Another forward from Palace Keshi Anderson that will give competition upfront and signed a back up keeper from Coventry Reice Charles-Cook.
Must be in the mix but the biggest challenge a complete team rebuild thus need game time to gel.

Paolo due back anytime soon?

Evaluation is difficult. Lads who have hardly played much football for years & been shuttled around on loans for a lot of their careers? OK reduced circumstances and all that. Keeping Kone & N Dong more of a positive with the health warning that the former will be playing to earn a January transfer Still not sure theres a challenge for play off in the squad.

Top six

Yeah but we will get sold eventually

I don't get why people keep going on about it, people want him out, fine, he wants to go and will sell when he gets a reasonable offer

We didn't get any last season

Grayson should be telling himself this

Never get the big deal in fans kicking off if a player wants to leave, its a natural.

Clubs who have been succesful sign and sell for profit. We should have been telling players, work your arse off for a year, and we will get you a good move next season

Exactly my thoughts- ellis wants to sell- big deal- maybe i would too if i were him- grayson has done great with 2 million to spend considering we have made 30 million and saved 100k in wages per week while injecting new morale- grayson buys players with good leadership skills so morale to grow now

I don't get why everyone seems pleased that Kone is staying, if he's going to be anything like he was down Barnsley all season then he will be a liability. He only stayed cos no one else wants him
