I just looked to see when it was awarded. It was June 2018. Things were a lot calmer then.

Where in the states and Mexico? Mexico wasn’t ready then either. They don’t have the infrastructure and there’s always chaos here. America was too expensive then as well. They shouldn’t have got anywhere near the World Cup.

The fact that we haven’t had a WC in sixty years is a disgrace. A legacy of Stanley Rous and Alf Ramsey calling the Argies animals. Mexico are about to have their third since then.

Imho the countries best placed to host a tournament are us and Germany

Why England and Germany? Spain also has the stadiums, much better transport than England, more hotels and cheaper all round. Although the weather counts against it.

It’s so spread out, the map with the cities show how far apart everything is…it makes a huge difference to the “feel” of a tournament when basically non of the fans are together outside of game day..would have been better putting it all on the east coast.

As for the prices they’re outrageous. Tickets for US sporting events are a piss take as par for the course but these f me…it’ll be $20 a beer inside no doubt.

A lot of the stadiums are miles outside of the city as well. The “Boston” game is about 30 miles from the city, and the “Dallas” game is a 45 minute drive to the middle of nowhere in Arlington…nee bars, well 1, next to it. Be like coming & staying to a Sunderland base game and having to drive to Middlesborough

100% this. No interest at all. I honestly Don't know who England have in their group. Or which players are or aren't going.

Same here , I have zero idea who England or Scotland have in their grouos. Provided the tv timing is right , I’ll probably watch a game or two , simply because it’s live football. .

The increasing involvement of the US in football will just be more nails in football's coffin.

FIFA are a disgrace and not fit for purpose. There needs to be a breakaway and a new governing body established.

I’ve been saying to anyone that would listen to keep us out of your national game. We’ll ruin it and it will be unrecognizable. It will however, make a lot of people a lot of money.
As an example look no further than F1 where we have Liberty Media referring to it as a ‘show’.
