Welcome Simon Grayson

boring, uninspiring appointment. Just what the club needs. He is not the man to play catch up and clean this mess up. Another masterstroke from this set of bastards.

It's a good job we didn't act like mags at the end of the season by chasing Ellis out of town.

Whats he like for bringing young players through into the squad, and playing them, not just benching them.

Good luck to the fella. I pray he gets off to a good start for his sake alone.

He isnt . I never wanted Moyes , and said so before he came. I wanted Dyche and got shot down..Some clubs need big characters i feel ours is one given the support and how we normally dont do too well on the pitch. I reckon Grayson has the right character for the job

Dyche was my choice too. Could not see anyone else.

I think he's a crap appointment. Utterly unimaginative and underwhelming

Im actually really happy with this appointment, completely different character to Moyes. I dont think any of these players will intimidate him. My only reservations are what he is going to be like in the transfer market
Is he that different to Moyes? Both are dour buggers as far as I can see

Exactly a proper whingefest. Good job some of us are a bit more level-headed marra.

Exactly, I said on another thread:

1- he's from Ripon, nearly Co Durham
2- his win % as a manager is over 40%, & that's with teams that even out our lot would call shite
3- " He shags who he wants" song can come out again, but tbf that's 6 or 7 years agan & he's since married the "recipient" ;)

Good. The sooner he's appointed, the sooner he can bomb out all the spineless shithouses our squad is full of, and being in some young, hungry players who actually want to play for our club.
I'm glad we haven't went for one of the usual failures who are always touted about as managers.

Anyone have any knowledge on what type of football he likes his teams play?
I'd love to see a team with a bit pace for a change.

If we're not top by the end of august he'll be hounded out :)

What are his credentials? I find everyting about him uninspiring and average even for the Championship.

He's a very good talent spotter, which is good if you're on a tight budget. We've got ourselves another Mick McCarthy in a nutshell.

Daryl Horgan is the next sensation to come from League of Ireland, had a fantastic first 6 months at Preston
Seanie Maguire touted to be the next Robbie Keane due to arrive at Preston this weekend.
Our very own Jordan Pickford he took on for a season.

Also can get the best out of has-beens for a good chunk of a season - Beckford and McGeady spring to mind.

Expect to be linked with in-form players from Ireland/Scotland, he loves youth talent spotting and has a great record at it.

He is a good long-term Manager, fans cannot afford to have a go at him straight away
