Wasn't overwhelmed but I had a read on PNE fan forum and in the main their supporters rate him highly so got to give him a chance, I was also over the moon with the Moyes appointment so shows how clueless I am

Feck me theres some deluded fans on your board! You sound just like us Preston fans when we were relegated to League 1! Big fish in a small pond. That attitude didn't work too well for us!

You aren't in the Premiership now! Having looked at your squad it is a shower of shit compared to sides already established in the Chpionship!

Apparently, you don't have much money to spend so the perfect manager you need is someone who can work on a budget, pick out a few lower league gems, get the best out of other teams cast offs and build a 'team'. You have got that manager yet you are all crying. Embarrassing

Boooooooom, how come the kid who is bang on the money is not an SAFC fan? Lets be honest, the best team we had in the last 20 years was Reids team, a team of cast offs and average players but the important bit was they were a TEAM whereby the whole was far greater than the sum of the individual parts.

Leeds fan mates tell similar story.

My first thoughts are that he is a safe appointment - probably ensures we don't get relegated again. But let's wait and see how he gets on with the younger players. We need youth with pace in the forward positions - especially out wide.

He got Leeds promoted into the Champs and then had a 49% win record when he was sacked by a lunatic chairman.....Not sure you can claim he has had no real success.
Success at L1 level I agree with, great promotions. Leeds aside... Sacked by Huddersfield after a poor half a season, then 2 mid-table finishes with PNE in the Championship after being promoted.

Success to me would be a play-off place this season but just can't see it under Grayson, especially if there is no serious investment.

I'm a bit underwhelmed really, but I don't really know much about him. Though he does seem to have given Preston stability which is what we need right now.

Ultimately I'm just glad it's over with and we can prepare for the new season.

You're making the usual mistake of concluding the usual vocal fannies from this board are somehow in a majority/representative of our support. I'm happy with the appointment.

I'm glad the whole takeover & managerial talk is done and dusted. We've a manager that wants to be here, his positive words are promising to hear.

Ha'way, let's get behind the lads and Grayson for the season.

Let them have their fun. It's git funny. Well it is to them.
the jordis are never happier when having a funeral or punching a horse...thats there type of humour.

I don't know much about Grayson. But I do know he wants the job, and that he thinks Sunderland is the biggest club he's managed.

Contrast that with Moyes attitude and it has to be an improvement.

His comments today about what he expects from the players are positive too.

Let's give the bloke our backing.

The other big thing for me is players like & respect him by all accounts. That has to be a positive

He's got shit hair
But we don't care
Simon Grayson.

You can play away at Fife
While he's shagging your wife
Simon Grayson.

Can't wait for the Leeds match

I'm excited that we have some one n charge who seems like he's up for it.

Roll on next season! I know almost nothing about our new manager but it's time to get behind him and be optimistic.
