Wear-Tees Derby

The big nightclub in Stockton was "The Mall".

Legendary venue ... "happy daze!"
The matches v Boro we all know haven’t the same level of intensity as playing that lot up the road..
But to compare it to any other game is laughable ..
Do cars end up getting over turned near the Jacksons underpass happen when we play a Norwich or someone ?
Wheatsheaf windows gan out v a Norwich ..?
Hell on when we play a testimonial v a Norwich like it did Boro at Ayresome park with sunlun in their paddock ?
SAFC team coach windows gan out against any other team like it did down Boro?
Nah .. it’s got any edge..
I suppose when you know .. you know..

Ah aye bud that’s the one .. used to draw few of us down there from Shields back in day 👍🏽

Honestly have no feeling at all towards this, never had. Never met a Boro fan in my life.
Ive more Boro mates than any other club. Great club , great support but they undoubtedly care more about us than we do about them. That said I hope we win the league and they come second even if they are all now, unfathomably Tory

And ha’way we don’t just pie midfielders from any other team as they are running down the mainstand paddocks wing at Roker Park like we did to that Brad Pitt look a like Jamie Pollock .
Surely a steaming mince pie in the face from the paddocks is a barometer that these matches have an edge to them?

I don’t know why some fans deride this as not a derby. It is, not as tense as the mags but it is still a derby. The only match I have seen bother at every time we played. However I worked down there and good lads, very similar to us i’d say. Both not delusional like the other lot.
It has to be more younger fans. I'm only 46 but can remember queuing for hours for Boro away tickets as, after the Mags, it was THE game.
Also, as you say, bother every single time I've been there (30+years) far more than versus thre Mags though the Coppers always seemed to let it go far more down there.

Lived in Boro for the last 7yrs and couldn’t meet a better set of lads, drink with them in the club and local, they’re exactly the same as us re being non-delusional about football. I do know however that this half a derby means far far more to them than it will ever mean to me.

I dint wear a top but got Safc tattoos on and they know who I support. The last time we played Boro a few of my family came through for a few pre-match drinks at the local and everyone was fine
