Wear-Tees Derby

May not be derby but the day of match will be more electric than we've been used to.

P.S Wonder if they've thought of a net in front of the away fans concourse area. Gonna need it I fear.

For any of us living down that way, it is very important.
Doesnt have the crackle of The derby, but for those of us who have to defend the lads down here, it is massive that we put up a good performance against them.

I will be driving to work in Boro tomorrow with my scarf flying out of the window.

Small , clinical victories.
No mess, no fuss, just pure impact.

It’s definitely got more heat than most games. I think anyone trying to say there isn’t any rivalry there is kidding themselves.

Obviously it’s not on the same level as the mags in any way but it’s still a derby in my eyes.

Haven't heard the chant, "We hate boro, we hate boro" since we dropped into L1, but with us gaining promotion, I'm sure it'll be sung again.

It'll never be a Wear/Tyne derby, but I've always got a derby-ish vibe whenever I've been to these matches. It's definitely got an edge to it, which is not all bad.

Remember a time not so long ago when the Big 3 of the North East football was mentioned for SAFC/NUFC/MFC.

I fully understand having never lived in the NE, I see the Wear/Tees match differently to locals, but after the mags, I've always seen it as a 2nd local derby, just as London teams may have after playing their main London rival.
