I think the OP was watching Atletico Madrid. Or group of kids playing in a park. It definitely was us.

Some of our players had a cracking game.
Steele played a blinder. Some of those shots he stopped! On a few occasions I thought we'd borrowed De Gea or Cortois for the day. Superb performance. Didn't deserve to concede today. For all I've thought he's been shite all season, today he can hold his head high for his performance.
Koné and O'Shea were class. Solid at the back and both getting forward to help the attacks. When Koné had to go off we were far weaker. He's another that's turned my opinion this season. Lots of unfair rumours about him early on when he turned out to be injured but people were saying he was skiving. He was quality today and has looked good since returning from his injuries. O'Shea personally saved us from conceding about 10 goals throughout the match with his interceptions, last ditch tackles and clearances. Quality performance.
Cattermole had another good game. Saved us at the back a few times and was getting into the opposition box to help out with attacks. Played some absolute quality passes and his tackling was superb.
McNair obviously scored the goal but was also always involved throughout. We really need to keep hold of this lad. Exactly what we need.
McGeady and McManaman were always pressing and looking to take players on. Some great running and dribbling from them both, lots of chances created by them and just never stopped.
Matthews looked very good. Some timely challenges to prevent opposition attacks, his long throws are awesome, and seems to have his head screwed on right. Excellent mentality on the lad by the look of him. I'd be looking to keep him for next season if we can.
Asoro looks like he's coming along nicely. Wrongfooted the opposition defence a few times. A bit lightweight still, on one occasion he was waiting for a high ball to land near him when the opposition left-back just stood there and Asoro bounced right off him and out of position for the header. That aside he seems to be making good progress.
Fletcher had a great game too. Looks like he genuinely gives a shit, was putting himself about all over the place and bringing others into play. Was even helping out in defence. Shame he can't get the ball in the net himself but he certainly creates chances for his teammates.
Really f***ing disappointing that we lost when we were winning until so late in the match, but all in all it was an enjoyable match for the most part and we certainly can't say they didn't try.
Straight back up next season, piece of piss. HAWAY THE LADS!!!
Having read that anybody would think we'd won about 6-0.Some of our players had a cracking game.

2 shots on target against Burton at home!Benno does his best to whinge constantly regardless of what's happening. Today there were actually long silences from him when we were attacking and looking good. Poor feller didn't know what to say.

To everyone else, I'll say this. Sometimes you can do everything right and still be on the losing team. We lost, it hurts, but let's not let the red mist blind us to the places on the pitch where credit was actually due.
Rather sobering reading young Clough's words there. We really are in a mess.Losing 1-2 with minutes to spare having lead the game for so long, at home and to Burton ffs, the weakest side in the league (bar us)
What did they spend on players this season ? £500,000 ???
I bet Nigel Clough wouldn't come here ffs.
Just read Clough's post match talk where he said
“My father used to talk with such passion about this club,” said Nigel. “It’s unbelievable that we’ve relegated them.”
Just shows how far we have fallen
I admire the ops positivity I'm just not sharing it at this present time.

Stopped reading at Steele had a good game.
Stopped reading at "some of..".
How can anyone say certain players had a good game when we lost 2-1? They clearly must not have had that good a game otherwise we would not have lost.
Unfortunately a lot of people live their life in black and white (no Newcastle pun intended) where things are either 1 or 0, good or bad, amazing or shite.Benno does his best to whinge constantly regardless of what's happening. Same people who will probably bemoan tactics and players just need to get the ball in the net.
Most of your original points were spot on, especially Steele who completely surprised me with some of his saves and even the home fans (although possibly doing it in a slightly piss taking way) were getting behind him with 'steeeeele' chants.
Due to this game being the one we were relegated in, most posters won't give a shit that a player played well, doesn't stop it being true though.
Their two goals were decentish goals, definitely not absolute howlers like most others
