This genuinely wouldn't surprise me. The lads didn't do controversial messages (other than the proposed one for the mags game), most fans enjoyed the displays, the club knew they were good for marketing purposes. There's literally no reason whatsoever why they'd throw obstacles in their way. One or two obstacles could be incompetence from the club, but it seems like it was constant. Not a single display happened without them doing something to piss the lads off and make life difficult.I don’t want to sound too conspiratorial, but I do feel as if the club don’t want a fan group getting too popular and active as then they can be regularly called out on their bullshit.
Mentioned before, whilst rawa have to do things a certain way, groups like SO37 could be a lot more reactionary, they have a lot of the young adult demographic following them, they could easily organise protests etc which would be visible and embarrassing to the club. They never showed any intention of doing that, it was all family friendly displays, but I do wonder if people at the club were worried about the potential of what they could do, saw them as the potential start of an ultras group and just wanted it to go away. And of course, the person with the most experience of ultras and the power they can hold, and the biggest reason not to want them would be the man at the top
