We did everything except win the game today

Shocking decision that in the 2nd half when Shaw was all over him and he got the foul🤷‍♂️
 
Its almost beyond belief we didn't win today. I really didn't have "Out play Man Utd" on my bingo card at the start of the season, especially not after playing against them for the first 20mins at their place.
But we did.
We made them look like a very poor team. Not only did we out fight them, we were faster, more energetic and they couldn't live with our simple passing routines, which were excellent today.

Let's just drink that in shall we: We convincingly out-played Manchester United today. Nice.
 
Great effort today. Dominated the game, unlucky not to get a goal. Well done the team and the coaching staff. 👏
 
It was an encouraging display and probably summed up what we're thinking now. Need to work on the final third for next season.
 
If you told me last season… we’d be playing an in form, champ league qualified Man U, and be leaving the stadium disappointed not to have taken three points having kicked their arse all over the park… I’d have taken that :D. Great performance, team were a joy to watch today.

I’d like to see the stats to back that up. Can only think of once today where he got dispossessed when he just didn’t release the ball quick enough.
 
It’s frightening to think how good we have to be to beat a top Premier League team on their bad day. If we had played a few more levels better we may have won. At least we know that to compete consistently we are going to have to perform to levels unreached by any Sunderland team in this league. If we double or even triple up on our performance level and effort against Everton we may stand a chance of getting a point or even a win.
