Disagree. 13 million quid is the going rate for a young prospect these days, doesn't mean he's anything other than a young prospect.

Playing top flight football at 18 years old, one who hasn't played much first team football, is a big ask.

If Brighton buy him, he'll be loaned out to play football.

Good enough to play in the top flight at say 20 years old, is a good investment given he'd have his whole career ahead of him.

I'd have thought in his interests to stay at Sunderland for a few years. Plenty of time for him to establish himself and get a good move if he turns out to be good enough, or stay at the club he followed as a lad and help SAFC get back in the top flight.

Suppose so, but Watson's from a different background to many who go to university and the motivation would be entirely different.

Either way, it was posted on here that Watson didn't want to leave. That post/poster seemed genuine to me.
