Walking to get blokes talking #2

got something else on...otherwise i would have liked to have done this

good luck and well done to all involved
If you'd like to help and are on social media following and share some of that stuff is still really helpful, might help connect people in need with services that help, likewise you'll see about any future events on. Facebook, twitter, Instagram and YouTube just space north east on all the above 👍

Great idea, I d love to be there but got a family day planned.
Just getting that 1st sentence out is a massive hurdle but I would urge anyone, Male or Female to do it.
Mental health services are at the limit so a day like this could be invaluable to someone who wants to open up but doesnt know where to go or who to see.
Two years after being referred to a CPN I have at last got an appointment next week.

Sadly I'm grafting till 2pm otherwise I would have been there. Often do the Leas on the Parkrun. Hopefully I'll be okay for the next one.

For anyone driving to the start, the best place to park for free is near the Bamburgh pub and walk down from experience.

well done to the OP , the lad who runs Ice Guys is a great bloke also who is giving up a lot of his time to help others , total respect to you both

Awful to hear stuff like this but happy for you it's finally happening!

Hopefully you start getting the support you deserve x
Thanks.
Its been a bit of a struggle at times because Ive been passsed from one counsellor to another, 6 in 3 years.
Each has recommended that I need a referral to a CPN...Ive just been in the queue for nearly 2 years and now its starting to move forward.

I hope that now things can start moving you can feel a better sense of a way forward.

What a cute dog by the way!

Aye, bit of a hike then! Could have picked you up but I'm going to have to miss it meself as I've ended up in hospital until next week at least - bad timing with the doctors on strike!
Got a limp still anyway of an injury so probably was a touch ambitious.... Gawd, reckon there's a noticeable difference? Daft question like, ya know doctors being quite important in a hospital!

They seem to be struggling to schedule my surgery, so probably, yeah!

I have only spent 1 night in hospital in my life, and that was voluntarily, in a private room and mainly to get a night's peace away from the family!

It is a real eye-opener! There are so many really, poorly people in here that I feel like a bit of a fraud.

The system is (being) absolutely fucked, but the staff are magnificent. Some of the shite they have to put up with, man.....

Hi lads and lasses,

I’m posting this on here as I know a lot of you on here came to our last one.

We’re doing a “pier-to-pier” (see what we did there), walk from South Shields to Roker on Saturday July 15th.

For our walk this time we’ve partnered up with Walk nd Talk, Iceguys and Washington Mind to join us!

Details of the walk are:

🗓️July 15th
📍Minchellas Haven Point, South Shields
⏱️11:00 AM
🏁 @fausto.coffee

As was the same last time, the walk is a show of solidarity with any men experiencing a hard time out there and looking for help. So if anybody sees us walking, they know help is available.

We had over 80 people in attendance last time, and as mentioned previously, a lot of you lot showed us a great amount of support so spreading the word on here too.

So please, if you’re up for a walk, with an amazing group of people on a (hopefully) sunny day, join us at 11am at the Minchellas at Haven Point.

Anybody can come along, so bring wives, girlfriends, dogs, kids!

If you’ve got any questions, drop us a line!
This is needed so much.Thank you xxx
