Definitely be happy with same again next season, then hope for more but making sure we retain out seat on the juggernaut that is the EPL, it's a different kettle of fish since we were last here

On a general basis yes. We’ve had some cracking results against the top teams, but some poor defeats thrown in there.
If we were to lose to the top teams, but get rid of the “sloppy” results that would be progress to me.

Having this sort of benchmark as our standard performance levels means you become the sort of premier league side Brentford are now. And that means you only need to outperform that slightly to secure european football, as they and bournemouth are showing this season. This is our next step
I hope some don't get impatient if we don't go immediately from 10/11th to 7/8th next season. Football (and in particular the premier league) is not that simple

Yep. There’s not much of a gap in quality between West Ham in 18th and Bournemouth in 6th. People need to realise that. You could in theory finish lower next season with an improved squad it’s that tight.

Same here. Team looked solid and played some cracking stuff. Created loads. Just need to work on the final third of the pitch. Always seem like we're rushed. Another day we could have scored a hat full against Utd.

If we can stay solid but up the quality in forward areas hope for a similar if not slightly better season.
The Situation

Absolutely.
A potential issue we need to manage next season is we've surpassed expectations this year and a consolidation season will be met with frustration by the usual suspects. Same people who have wound themselves up into a knot about not finishing in Europe this season but yet wouldn't have given us a prayer of staying up at the beginning.
Finish comfortably safe next year in and around that lower mid-table group and whilst it would objectively be a good season, it'll be "we haven't progressed, we need to move on from XYZ".

if we end up winning more than we’ve lost than this season will have been absolutely daft. really good achievement in itself
Anything from 17th and above is more than acceptable. Consolidate and then chip away bit by bit.
And to anybody who says we finished in X position so we should be aiming higher next season... That same target is set for every team and they can't all finish higher. So 17th and above should be the realistic target.
