TBH I love watching England play cricket,our lass (No) hates it as I drink my way through it but just not knowledgeable enough to know who would be our best team

I get the gut feeling a few of these players they are trying out are a bit short of the required standard. Probably very good county players.

Bairstow, Roy, malan, Root, rashid, woakes, wood, topley are all missing for example. Not saying it would be much better after how poor they were at the world cup, but it is a more experimental squad we've sent.

Its the normal thing with a domestic seam bowler who actually bowls in the high 80mph. They are so rare they quickly get elavated. He is in his mid 20s and has never been a nailed on starter for his county.

We haven't really got an A team at the minute, but some of the players you'd think would be in the squad ain't gettin' on no plane for this series.

It's more that Mott and Buttler are still in situ after that world cup performance. The ECB clearly aren't taking this format seriously anymore, so why should we?

Holder and Pooran have both turned down central contracts today so won’t be seen in ODIs again by the looks of it
