Walk up Witton Road to the Yew Tree. Been there a few times. It is a scruffy dive, but will let you in and serve you some poor beer. (I stick to the guinness. It is a safer bet than the others)

City Centre Shuttle Bus

For travel to and from Birmingham city centre, an express city centre shuttle bus connects to Villa Park on matchdays. The pick up point in Birmingham city centre is at Dudley Street, close to Birmingham New
Street station. The shuttle buses can be used by home and away fans.

For more information, including maps of the pick up and drop off points, please visit

Might just have a few in the centre and use this

Think we going to get the 1.00pm train from Birmingham new st to Witton only takes 10 mins

Witton Arms was charging £5 when I went to the England game there a few months ago , it did have a sign saying it was the away pub but not sure if that's still the case.

Hellhole of a pub and I'd stay in Birmingham City Centre for a drink if I were you.
It cost £2 to get in last time we were there.

Any suggestions for a pub I can watch the game in on Sunday in the area? Thinking of going down but obviously can’t attend the game following my ban.

Ah ok, maybe they increased the prices as it was an England game.

We went to The Shakespeare Inn near New Street Station. Think it's a Birmibgham City pub, but they're away at Hull on Saturday so I doubt there would be any problems there on Sunday. You can get a train from New Street to Witton, only a couple of minutes. A few others pubs either at or near the station. Hope that helps.

The city centre has some great pubs but the area near the ground less so. I am not doing this one due to family reasons so hey ho, but if I was I would stay in Brum town centre then travel up to Witton by train.

Is it true the upper tier concourse doesn’t serve booze?

My son wants to get in early to soak up the post-derby game atmosphere 😏
