Vardy

Vardy is shit. 1 in 5 record for Leicester in the chanpionship mainly and a bit in the premier league. Nearly 29 so not the future either. Utterly woeful.

And sterling is tearing the league up for man city on the left....

No he isn't, Silva and Aguero are. His only goal and best performance came vs Watford when Silva went wide and Sterling went central which is his best position.

So only goals means good games now? Vardy is useless man. Rather play Ibe tbh, least he is young.

Ibe has been terrible so far this season, and if he did select him then Roy would just be accused by fans of showing big club bias again and not the inform players from lesser sides.

Disagree. People have moaned about Shelvey, he's a very good player. Stones isn't at a big club. Vardy just brings nowt. Would rather have Townsend out there, probably even Nathan dyer

I honestly think Vardy is all huff and puff. Don't think he should be anywhere near England tbh.

Fair enough im not his biggest fan either but I can see why Roy wanted to give him a chance because he offers energy and presses the opposition well. He would probably be better playing on the counter attack than against teams that sit deep.

And I like Townsend actually, he usually ups his game for England.

he could have put chamberlain out there and had walcott on the right

For a right footed player to play one the left they have to have a good shot on them and I don't think Chamberlain particularly does. Where's Vardy is a decent finisher but didn't get any chances today.

Vardy is a f***ing pleb but I don't mind his selection much. He's no worse than any of his peers in that position, which is more of a damning indictment of the English production line than anything. We'd be chuffed if he was our man and getting a game for England, and I see little issue with playing him in low-risk games like San Marino. I actually found it pretty refreshing to see some players from unfashionable teams like Swansea, Leicester and Liverpool turning out for the national team today.

he has a decent shot on him but brings far more to the table than that. you seriously can't be suggesting that you would prefer vardy to chamberlain?

No I prefer Chamberlain but I want him to play on the right in his best position.

A few own goals on here like.

It's evidence that the vast majority of fans know very little about the game. Yes we can all watch Messi, Ronaldo, etc and see they're fantastic players but most are judged on perception. I think the majority of you look at a player like Vardy and judge him on being released at 16 by Sheff Wed and then spending his mid 20's in the non league before not setting the world on fire in his time at Leicester up to this season.

I've watched 11 Leicester PL games this season and I see a player whose work rate and pace is world class. His touch and movement has improved beyond all recognition since he came to Leicester. The Watford penalty incident and you'll see him take a fantastic touch as the ball comes over his head whilst sprinting.

Also the West Brom goal whilst sprinting with ball half the pitch he takes a touch near the end to get him away from the defender and open up and angle and slots the ball in the side netting.

The majority of goals he's scored this season have been finishes in the side netting. I look at him and think there is enough evidence to suggest that he's the best striker in the PL apart from Aguerro. I might be wrong but the evidence is beginning to mount up that he's top quality and not a flash in the pan the ignorant will tell you without analysing what he does as a footballer.
