I think we have benefited from VAR more than it’s been against us since the playoff final but that could be down to pure luck.

I think the 'consistency' people expect is unachievable. Just out of curiosity how would you achieve the consistency you desire?
I reckon VAR should have ex professional players that have played the game and can interpret decisions to be made.Accountability
Adherence to the laws
Openness to mistakes
Having a bigger pool of VAR trained officials
Accountability
Adherence to the laws
Openness to mistakes
Having a bigger pool of VAR trained officials, competent for the job they're doing.
Frost of all I will say I’ve put the word compendium in and have no idea what it means. That being said the purpose of this post which I hope you jolly good folk will participate in is to list the worst VAR mistakes ( corruptions ) that we have seen this season. This might indicate who has benefited most and who has well and truly had their pants pulled down. Here’s 3 to start as they are pretty recent
Mbuemo handball v Forest went to var you know the box sign so it will be given,,,usually and wasnt
Havertz tackle enough said
Motherwell header that wasn’t handball as hands can launch a ball like that.
Over to you lovely folk.
To play Devil's Advocate, does it bounce up off his thigh into his arm as he fails to control it? What if this was like when Quinny used to kill the ball on his chest bringing his arms in?You must be logged on to see media items
The Man Utd goal on the weekend was one of the most baffling VAR decisions I've seen. Fully controls it with his arm, directly leads to the goal, how on earth does that not get chalked off?
It hits his hand for sure as the angles the next day showed it but those angles were Celtic's own video and a media photographer. Not seen the still frame pics of the Motherwell header but from one angle it doesn’t look handball but from another angle it does.
I think there is a list published of VAR errors so for anyone who can find and post that, it might be an interesting contribution to the thread.
Even if it does come off his thigh first, he's still controlled it with his arm. If it hadn't hit his arm then he'd have completely lost control of the ball.To play Devil's Advocate, does it bounce up off his thigh into his arm as he fails to control it? What do you mean by this? It’s an assistant referee, of course it’s a personI don’t think it is the tool that is the problem but those operating it.
But is it accidental given it's bounced up off his thigh and he was just moving his arms with his body movement trying to kill the pace of the ball by sticking his arse out? He probably wanted it to hit him more in the groin so he could smash it in without spinning around. I'm not sure if the Forest defender gets a small touch on the ball changing it's path just before him.Even if it does come off his thigh first, he's still controlled it with his arm. If it hadn't hit his arm then he'd have completely lost control of the ball.
VAR did pull it up, the ref checked it on screen and said the goal stood. VAR don't overrule the ref, that was his error. You must be logged on to see media items

I have seen the still and it does look that way, but if you see the trajectory and power the ball goes from the player then a hand in the way does not allow this. Not seen the still frame pics of the Motherwell header but from one angle it doesn’t look handball but from another angle it does.

Totally agree, if it is used properly then it would be a great help but they seem to have made a right hash of that. Anything that takes over 1 minute to make a decision can't be clear and obvious so just get on with the game.

does anyone think VAR is good for the game?
