Non-attending Mag.
Yeah but probs wished they had, and might think twice next time. Awful imoSadly VAR isn't going away though match day fans still go mad when goals go in as you see the celebrations in all games with VAR. Looking at this clip just after the Coventry players go mental celebrating, I don't think many Coventry fans have just stood there after that goal went in and said "Oooh, could be offside so best wait before I go mental".

Yeah ok live your lie if it makes you feel good, only missed one home game this yearNon-attending Mag.
That was my feeling. The footage I’ve seen hasn't proven to me that he was offside. I think the game is somewhat corrupt. It wasn’t even the right decision. He was level.
The problem is the sell it in that offside line as precision of millimeters but they cannot do that precision to the same level for the time the pass is played or connects to the ball, so it's a farce seeing goals like that called offside. You actually see that Coventry offside. Literally a fanny's hair offside. Shambles ruined the game for me
Bollocks. You’re on here before the full time whistle is blown. St James Park 5G must be on point.Yeah ok live your lie if it makes you feel good, only missed one home game this year
Soccer? Some utter troglodytes on here. VAR is the best thing that has happened to soccer in the last 150 years.
How come technology hasn’t ruined cricket, or rugby, or tennis who all use technology to review decisions even after a wicket or a try?
I wouldn’t argue with anyone who says VAR hasn’t been implemented that well, particularly in this country - the clear and obvious rule is absolute bullshit and clearly there to protect referees, but as a concept there isn’t anything wrong with it all.
If VAR is here to stay, let’s just abolish offside altogether. Let’s have loads more goals, open it up, let it be a free for all so we can at least celebrate goals without the inevitable technical offside kerplunk computer coming out.
And while we’re at it, just say if it hits any part of the arm at all it’s a foul irrespective of unnatural body shapes and what have you.
Yes, association football is also known as soccer and it is a term I preferSoccer?
They refer to it as "soccer" here in Australia (and New Zealand) I remember (with much fondness) looking forward to Crimbo and receiving "Charles Buchan's Soccer Gift Book" from my Auntie Marie and Uncle Chas!Yes, association football is also known as soccer and it is a term I prefer
He's not level though.Other people on here agree with me. He's level. His foot is level in that photo. Umpire’s call.
DRS works fairly well in cricket though?I guess it's just another example of how "technology" has crept into the world. Sadly (and embarrassingly) for me, I had reason to be grateful for VAR decisions that went in favour of my side at Goodison Park (V Nottingham Forest)
I hasten to add, that I'm not a disciple of "video technology" deciding contentious incidents. I can remember when video calls were introduced into cricket here in OZ. Rather than settle matters, it quite often simply let the umpires "go upstairs" as a first resort rather than make a decision themselves. Same story in tennis. I don't want to go back necessarily to the hysterics and histrionics of McEnroe, Connors and others but to my old fashioned way of thinking it's removed that "human factor" from refereeing/Umpiring decisions.
I realise, of course, that others may disagree.
Agreed. A silver lining of not being in the PL.I'm always grateful the championship don't have it. When we score I can celebrate. The best feeling in football. Hate VAR.
Trouble with margins of error is that there will then be calls right up against whatever the margin is.It is. His foot is ahead
You can argue that there needs to be a margin of error, but as the rule stands he’s off
