VAR has ruined top level football.

Absolute joke that and I hate Coventry.

Its not a joke. If the linesman had flagged and stopped the goal nobody would have said a word.

The issue is theres a major once in a lifetime celebration that is cancelled.
If var wasn't it and the Coventry goal was given even though it was offside people would be going absolutely spare about it

Not in this case, it was so close you could barely tell. Nobody would have said a word

Haway man, imagine if that was Sunderland and that was given dispite it being offside you think people would just accept it?

He isn't level. He's just off. As the lines show. And hence they used that to give him off.

You're simply not happy that it's so marginal. Fair enough. But it's there in front you, he's just offside.

VAR has ruined football ffs

When they showed it on MOTD this morning (my time) it looked like his foot was ever so slightly infront of the offside line so he was offside. Interestingly without VAR they would have been all sorts of complaints after the fact about how the Cov player was offside and the mistake by the officials has cost ManU a place in the final. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

It is tho. This very example shows that. It's down to when the fella doing VAR that day decides when to pause the play, guess when the fella is passing the ball and where to draw his silly lines. On another day that wouldn't have been given as offside.
Thats not interpretation thats human error, if they do it correctly which by the numerous stills ive seen across social media suggest they have then it is absolute. Its tough and if it had happened to us i'd be fuming but he's offside

I’m not arguing against VAR what I’m saying is if there were no VAR there would probably be no arguments about that goal because “by all accounts and purposes” he looked level.
Like I said in the post I don’t really know what my point is!
Fair enough mate. I get that. Ive got to go to work now, i dont think my bosses will take kindly to lateness due to out of work Var chat online

That Sky which has made our league the biggest , most popular , richest and most competitive league in the world . The one that has enabled the best managers and the best footballers to join our league and given us the best stadia and some of the best academies producing the best England prospects most of us have seen . That Sky ?

It's interpretation. No-one knows exactly when those things happen so they have to make a decision.

VAR was always going to be shit, and lo and behold, it's absolutely shit.

Goal line technology was the correct thing to do, and they should have left it at that.

Mind, this recent bollocks about what constitutes as 'completely over the line' is a joke anarl.

The problem is the sell it in that offside line as precision of millimeters but they cannot do that precision to the same level for the time the pass is played or connects to the ball, so it's a farce seeing goals like that called offside.
Danny Murphy said earlier on MotD2 that VAR operates at 25 frames per second! Now that means absolutely nothing to me, but it would suggest that there is an inherent margin of error.
Bin it now!

Offsides are absolute as well. You are either onside or offside just as the ball has either crossed or not crossed the line.
The mental thing about this entire thread is that the major fuck up yesterday was how Ashley Youngs handball wasnt a pen but Wan Bissaka's was. Thats where Var has had a mare yet everyone seems focused on the decision it got right
Would still prefer a degree of tolerance (umpires call in cricket) as to all intents and purposes the offside was level (I know as toe was an inch off or summit). I’ll never like it.

Couldn't care less that it's 'only' Coventry it's absolutey shite. My mate is a Wolves season ticket holder and he's wrapped it in for the first time in 20 years because of how bad VAR has been in the games they're involved in. I might be in the majority with this comment but the Premier League is such an unattractive proposition at the moment. I just can't stand how you can't celebrate a goal anymore because you don't know if your forward was offside by the thickness of a sheet of A4. They need to address the issues with the technology or bin it off altogether. I'd rather put up with EFL referees every week than be in the PL with the current officiating system.

Modern football has been shite for years man

Overpaid wankers
Free Kicks for Sneezing on an Oppenent
VAR
Women Commentators etc.
Eni Eluko :/
Gary Lineker MOTD
Giving world cups to oddball natuns
Not being able to give opposing fans a SLAP without facing jail and lifetime bans

oh and Balti Pies are not as nice as they used to be
