VAR.... again

I saw that and was going to post it but couldn't be arsed to debunk it but now it's here I have 🤣 This is the frame by frame of their clip with Frame 4 at the start and 5 at the end, yet why is 3 frames in their tweet with 1 in between their frame 4 and frame 5?

These are the 3 frames and 1st is their frame 4 and the last is the frame 5 and one in between. In the middle frame you can see the ball is already moving but it still looks like DCL's foot is ahead of the Spurs player.

No apologies needed at all 👍 I just thought it was another misleading thing like the ones on Twitter that people hoy up to create debate as it gets them clicks etc like the stuff above.
it was a clear foul and should have been a pen! any fair minded viewer would see the grabbing of the arm by the spurs player..var technology isnt the problem its the numpties using it.... Should leave it to AI when it comes to when a ball is kicked forward and if players are offside !but the humans should have spotted the pen!and the reason they didnt flag it is alll that is wrong with VAR!

How many times pre VAR did we read or hear
‘It was a clear penalty, handball, foul’ etc etc
The same weeping and wailing goes on, it really is pathetic and now the usual suspects are going on as if the introduction of VAR has made things worse to suit their narrative
I reckon a proportion of the anti VAR bilge is from the luddites in our midst.
Fact is the game was getting faster, and despite refs and linesmen getting fitter and better trained etc there was and is too much going on at the elite level and things ( infringements etc ) were missed.
VAR is still human and like humans not perfect.
Right now, thanks to teams like Arsenal, the chaos and confusion that is rife at set pieces must be a nightmare to umpire.
Watching games where SAFC arent involved and the neutral Cant be other than gobsmacked at the wrestling, shirt pulling, pushing etc etc, most of which, it seems, is now deemed lawful.
But hey let’s blame VAR

We were told that we can introduce VAR and get decisions correct.

It may ruin fan enjoyment, suck the atmosphere out of games, cause huge delays, kill the spirit of the sport - but at least we will get the correct decisions. so it'll all be worth it.

Guess what, we got all of the above, except the correct decision bit. Time to scrap it

It’s amazing how this keeps happening. Again and again they’ll get big decisions wrong and the ref never has the bollocks to make the right call. Pathetic

so basically, we are no further forward with regards to decision making

but we now have massive delays every game and can't celebrate goals properly.

so what exactly is the point in it? it adds nothing, and takes away so much

If that Silva holding incident is a 5 to 0 vote then what will they make of Trossard hanging onto Pablo from the moment the corner kick is taken up until Pablo 'fouled' Raya?

The VAR Paul Howard decided the holding had taken place before the corner was taken, so he could not intervene to award a penalty. "If that doesn't get given as a penalty, then it's an absolute free-for-all from now on," Moyes said after the game.

All five members of the KMI panel agreed with Moyes, saying "there is a clear, sustained holding offence which continues as the corner is taken and the ball comes into play".

The Silva incident with Everton player going down to show he was being held.

Trossard's sustained holding that started before the kick and this is from moment kick was taken with no attempt to play the ball and hanging onto Pablo as if they've jumped out of a plane but Pablo is the one wearing a parachute. Pablo stays on his feet rather than just fall over to 'force' ref to make a decision.

As I've said for some years now, when the ball is placed in the quadrant then the ball is in play and any fouls after that are punished. This simple rule change will stop all this shite going on before the ball is kicked given the time it takes to kick the ball after being placed.

This is going to sound mental but at what point do they decide the ball is being "played"? It takes more than an instant to pass a ball, so is the rule that if the striker is offside at any moment during the prior pass being made then he is offside?

That might explain the difference in the two images?

Edit: Although Udogie's legs look to be in (almost) the same position, so perhaps that isn't what is going on here
This is precisely the absurdity of VAR, they cannot be toe lengths precise about the moment the ball is kicked. It's the Emperor's new clothes. We all know it, but no one will call it.

Nowt better than a misleading image due to viewing perspective to make the shite even worse 🤣

This is the alternative camera angle showing that it's after the ball has been played. It's just the other camera angle hides the gap between the ball and the foot.

The gif of both angles

You've gotta laugh.

Another example of the likes of Twitter being the pits. "The most obvious corruption"

It's offside.
