Update on Black Cats Ukraine

Following on from my idea earlier, I'd love to be able to contact the club and see if they'd replace the badge with the blue and yellow one mocked up on this thread, but the contact form is just that and not an email address. If someone has an email addy, I'll send over the suggestion that they do a one-off, match-worn kit which could then could be auctioned off to raise funds for humanitarian relief.

Cracking idea Burchy, especially if done with the Yellow and Blue away kit.

I think that is a fantastic idea - would Chris Waters be a good first contact?

If the response is not encouraging, an option might be to look at a petition or poll on here to show the idea has support.

There might be sponsorship or league rules against this sort of thing, but I‘d like to see the club accept the idea then pressure the league on behalf of the fans wishes, rather than them be a blocker.

God love em. Whole thing is heartbreaking x

Black Cats Ukraine....out of 67 members/regulars on a Saturday afternoon watching the match in O'Briens, Kyiv, 23 are/were Ukrainians, who some have even travelled at huge expense to watch games here (visa costs, airfares and hotel accommodation)...cracking lads and proud to wear the shirts /hats etc...while most followed Manure or Chelsea even some for the Mags, we were probably the best respected of them all...Some of the lads off this board will know who from their meetings during Euro 2012...I'm sure your hearts and best wishes go out to them all.

Are you touch with them mate? It would be good to get an update on their situation, I know easier said than done given what's happening over there at the moment and how many members there are. I can't imagine how horrific it is for them. It's awful seeing women struggling with their babies and watching children saying goodbye to their Dad's before getting on a train, possibly to a strange place they've never been to before.

I've suggested it to RAWA and mentioned that anything we can organise or help the club to organise / promote would receive immense backing from the fans. As you'd expect it sounds like RAWA are keen to do something here. I'm certainly keen to do anything I can to provide even the slightest bit of help. What form it'll take etc I'm not sure but naturally I'll keep you updated
