University student stabbed

Lammy explains unhelpful expressions of anger from him and his colleagues as okay because 'we were in opposition'.

Well so is Farage, does he get a free pass then? No, David. Nor should he or anyone else whether in opposition or not.

Shabana Mahmood also wrote an open letter to constituents which said:

Many constituents have been in touch with me regarding protests across the United States after the murder [emotionally-loaded language, there had been no trial at this stage] of George Floyd by an American police officer in Minnesota. I share their anger over this unspeakable outrage.

[...]

I absolutely agree that arms sales should be stopped, and any new licenses [sic] for the export of riot control projectiles and equipment to the United States, until it can be determined whether any of these items are being used in response to the ongoing protests. I have a strong track record of opposing arms sales used to inflict damage on oppressed peoples...[A]nd have signed other cross-party letters to this effect.

This was after US cities were set ablaze, referring earlier in the letter to the death 'two weeks ago'. Does she not think it was right that US police were trying to stop these riots, with her opposition to exports and describing those efforts as 'inflict[ing] damage on oppressed peoples? Did she not care about the innocent people - including shop owners from marginalised groups - who lost livelihoods? How can someone with such a response to serious matters of public disorder anywhere be Home Sec?

I have got a straightforward idea: how about unintelligent politicians - be it Farage or anyone else - engage their brains before opening their mouths to wade-in to already fractious situations? Wouldn't that be nice? Not too much to ask is it?

‘We ****** up, let’s frame the narrative ‘

That would have collapsed the trial. Anyone who supported this needs to be sacked. It comes close to conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Absolute insanity.

I'm a rightie, but there's something about Lammy that I quite like. He just sits there and takes it without interrupting, shouting or being rude, however....if I was appointed Sunderland manager tomorrow morning I honestly believe I would be less out of my depth.

shameless really, theyve tried to politically mudsling rather than tackle the elephant in the room.

Probably goes to show how much of an isolated incident this was when I'm in my late forties and only just learned what one of these sword/dagger things are called and that Sikhs carry them.
