University student stabbed

That's also the Crux of it, it would depend what either of us were doing when they arrived. If one person is kicking off and jumping around causing the situation to be unmanageable, then maybe a temporary measure is to handcuff and subdue people. Not saying that the victim here was going they by the way

I’m sure I read he was lying on the floor and given he was stabbed five times, once on the face/chin there must have been blood visible.

The fact they are refusing to release the body cam footage even though the trial is over speaks volumes.

.aye they've definitely made a very bad judgement call and very bad decision(s) in the moments after arriving on the scene

I just don't think it has anything to do with this "woke two tier agenda"

I think there is an element of truth in the allegation that the police themselves are terrified of being accused of being racist.

Consciously or subconsciously, I think that has played a part here given what the 999 allegation was, they have immediately presumed the young lad as guilty. Which as I mentioned before will only increase tensions.

Again, why do you want to release footage of a boy dying?

I’ve not asked for it to be released but a lot of people have including some MP’s.

I was making the point that they aren’t releasing it as the amount of time they left him dying in handcuffs will look appalling despite a dying man telling them he had been stabbed and their response was ‘I don’t think so mate’.

There was riots around the world when someone died at the hands of the police a few years back, I don’t think our PM has said anything about it despite kneeling in solidarity a few years back.

None of us know any of that. I have no idea what happened during the minutes the cops turned up & I believe there is an ongoing inquiry

Yeah imagine speaking about race and the police ey, this is a first isn't it.

It's actually quite funny how different the response is when the police have apparently wronged a non white person.

If you feel like this is a story that's being overhyped by politics i would love to hear your thoughts on george floyd.
I think that was blown out of all proportion as I have already stated in this thread that the lad who's name I can't remember he got shit by police in London and it turned out he was a drug dealer but up to that point there was a movement to demonise the police officer who shit him.

Race does play a part of our biases but to suggest it played a part here is nonsense, the kids that killed him just took advantage of making the first accusation so the police acted on that.
The police themselves have said they cocked up.

How can you put someone in cuffs who have said they have been stabbed and had been five times. It's so ridiculous in that type of circumstance you need the footage to vindicate you, not the other way round.
They said the sikh lad accused him of something and I'm guessing due to the time of night they have thought it's a drunken argument or fight, once they knew the facts they uncuffed him and gave emergency aid.

Without the benefit of hindsight I don't think that sounds wildly unreasonable.
Wow.

Are you serious?
Yes, do you think police otherwise make perfect decisions when attending affray or antisocial behaviours night after night, you're hearing about this because it was a white lad that died.

Mark Duggan?

Sounds like they didn't take him seriously when he said he'd been stabbed because theyd prioritised the lie about him being racist above that.

That a bit of a misrepresentation but you know what your doing

The fella in America was actually murdered by the police. Who got let off initially

The lad in this case was murdered by a maniac member of the public with a knife , who has been sentenced to 18 years in jail

Completely ballsed up would be a deliberate act caught on camera which led to a death. None or these things happened as far as anyone else knows so I'm wondering why you're still fighting this corner now except to state there's a little bit of stubbornness in you that you can't let go of.

As if making honest mistakes should result in the public outcry like this man, there is no equivalence needed but people are losing all perspective because they're actively looking for something deeper than a few coppers doing their jobs

What you're talking about is hypothetical and irrelevant really given it actively requires you to imagine it rather than see it first hand.
Lets be totally honest this thread is either full of people who want it to be racially motivated by the police or whos online algorithms have moulded them to be primed for 2 tier policing crack, it's a horrible thing that happened but it's becoming a story because of reform and their ilk who own the media want it to be.
I'm as anti-Reform as anyone, absolutely despise them, voted in the council elections specifically to try and keep them out.

But ha'way man, the lad was stabbed 5 times, injuries which were so bad it didn't matter whether he was handcuffed, he was gonna die, he told the police he was stabbed. Instead of treating what he said seriously they just assumed he was lying, I wouldn't expect a regular member of the public to do that, nevermind trained police.

And left to die by the police in handcuffs, that’s manslaughter, pretty sure Derek Chauvin was convicted of manslaughter.

Mark Duggan?
Nah

The reason reform are so happy about this is that is confirms in their minds that there is a 2 tier justice system, one that prioritizes ethnic minorities over white people so the assumption people are quite clearly making is that the police arrested the white man and not the Sikh because that's how the police work now which is just conspiracy bollocks let's face it.

Of course it was a bad decision they made but the reason I'm arguing with people on this thread is that we weren't there, hindsight is always perfect and easy compared to being there in the moment is very different so why second guess every decision that's been made.

I mean I know why it's attracted so much media attention because it feeds into what the people who own the media want us to be angry about get again distracting us from the massive inequality in society.

And there we have it, your real desires seeping through, are you actually upset that this lad died or do you feel vindicated that he died because what you think the police did was actually because they would always prioritize ethnic minorities over white people.

You're really down a rabbit hole.
