They made an error of judgement based on the misinformation being given to them on the scene. I'd agree there could have been unconcious bias - some based on race but also some based on experiences.

It wouldn't have made a difference in this case, that's fair enough. But there is something wrong with the way they work if this is standard, the next one might have treatable injuries.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are noble aims we should strive for. They are the right thing to do, we’re just approaching them all wrong.

100 years ago we’d be upset that working class people weren’t given equality of opportunity and weren’t included where their voices should have been heard.

Maybe im ignorant but I didnt know that was a thing. It does look like the murder weapon doesn't meet the religious standards though in that its a straight knife and not curved.

Regardless it shouldn't be allowed im definitely more left of centre politically but this isnt a left v right thing its a public safety thing.

Yep. The standards of policing are very poor in the UK. They have allowed absolute morons and wrong uns in. There's plenty studies to tell us that.

They have to do better.

i agree, but to do better they need to be paid better, trained better, have more resources etc... all of this costs money and between 2010 and 2019 the police force was cut by something like 20,000

We should be widening the start line to give more people a chance. We should never be pulling the finish line closer.

Equality of opportunity v equality of outcome.
 
Charlie Vietch is an auditor, he's not as confrontational as some, but he knows whats in store before he leaves his home to do what he does. However, I have seen him constantly called Pedo, a few times in front of police to be told "it's only a bit of name calling" I kind of agree with the police, but Charlie is currently waiting to be charged with making a gay comment from 20 metres away from his so called "victim"

The law is the law...no get out of jail cards.
