Underrated players

James Ward-Prowse and Michail Antonio. I know both have got some decent press recently but you never see them linked to the top clubs. The likes of Man Utd and Arsenal could do a lot worse IMO, although Antonio may be a touch old now.

Also, a random one but I always though Victor Wanyama was quality at Southampton and Spurs. Just checked and he's playing in MLS and he's still only 30 so don't know what happened there.

Dewsbury-Hall would be absolutely lauded if he was playing for any of the big 6. He's been outstanding recently and performed very well against top sides.
He's bloody brilliant. Came to most Leicester fans attention with this winning goal against Sunderland in the EFL Trophy in 2019

Fred gets lots of stick as he’s the popular United whipping boy and you’re right. He’s actually very good and he’s certainly one of the best United players this season.
Son is the type of player fergie would have signed for utd and made him world class.

Henderson is the obvious choice for most underrated IMO. I mean half this board thought he was shite when he played for us, and according to FB he's crap.
I see your point about Son being signed by Fergie but I already think he is world class, by whatever definition that is. He’s fantastic.

Feel the lad needs to drop deeper.

His production isn't good enough to play as an AM, with the embarrassment of riches England have in that position. He doesn't score enough, not enough assists. Nowhere near really, considering he'd need to displace (imo) generational talents like Foden or Bellingham. Or even highly productive players like Gallagher and Mount (and arguably his colleague who is too regularly overlooked, Maddison).

However, where he is really interesting is in his km covered. He basically covers the grass in the way players like Phillips, Henderson or Rice do. Therefore, could he drop deeper? I think he will when Tielemans fucks off. He has the graft and the craft to be very useful from there. His footwork and trickery could be really effective at beating presses from that position too. But not dangerous enough higher up the pitch for me.

To be fair, he's underrated still - merely having this conversation about England, shows that.
