Clubs cant have it both ways though can they.I am involved in junior cricket within the county, I am not employed by DCCC but have done a number of coaching sessions for them in the past. I could have some influence in the direction of junior cricket but I am by no means high up!!
Who is the player who is content at CLS 2nds that doesn't want to play 1sts? AN? As for why somebody might stay and play 2nds... cricket is a sport played for enjoyment. Many seniors are happy not to push themselves as they are content playing at the club where they are happy and playing with mates. I'm not saying this is the right attitude to have, it is just one reason why people don't move elsewhere.
You cant say on the one hand that you are being denied opportunities within a club due to competition and having loads of players; and then turn around and say that its ok for places to be denied due to players who are happy to occupy places forever and a day that other lads are keen to get. There is a balance between enjoyment and those who have ambition. Some clubs dont strike the right balance. If you have talented players you look after them properly or they will simply leave.
I'm still intrigued by who you are and how you know which teams my son was playing for. You clearly know CLS CC well and you clearly know who my son is.
