Two Tier Test Cricket in discussion again.


Everything is "but the kids"! Looking at the crowds during Test Matches there seems to be plenty of young'uns enjoying themselves so why do they keep going on about "The Format" being too long to attract their interest! If the Tests keep evolving as they are at the moment there is not usually that often to much of a lull during the game - apart from over rates being a bit slow, but that is something that should be clamped down on hard by the powers that be!
 
I don’t have the answer, but last Summer’s test schedule was the worst I’ve ever known, can’t be having mismatches like that if bums are to remain on seats.

I’d much rather see strong Windies and Sri Lankan teams over here, they have a great record of infighting and poor governance though. More money won’t necessarily equal a resurgence for them and other likely 2nd tier nations.

Let me guess. Proposed by the Indians, and div 2 countries will be given money to sweeten the deal?

This is not right. Test cricket only has 10 playing nations some of which don't play each other already. This is going to hasten the demise of the game.

Test cricket is not the English premier league or IPL. I wish the powers who govern the game would stop trying to treat it as such. Trying to rinse it for as much money it can.

Rob Key says there is too much County Cricket and yet England are playing far more test cricket (and international cricket I believe) than any other country. If he wants to look at improving the success of our England team then I think he should start closer to home. County cricket is just an easy target.

So a 2 division test league. At last who wants to watch England v Afghanistan exactly?? Be great with promotion and relegation something to play for instead of pointless test series nowadays.

Just imagine England v South Africa to decide who stays up relegation battle be all over the press getting people interested in the series instead of pointless.. This should happen surely? Be more important a series to avoid relegation than an ashes series?
