Misguided effigy tribute?

Travel firm TUI has issued a refund to a party of travellers after they were greeted by an effigy of their dead son at a luxury hotel in Jamaica.
 
There’s a much better thread about this in the main page. You’d think the OP would have done a quick search first.
 
This is precisely what I homed in on. What sort of person would imagine that the bereaved parents of a kid who had died there would want balloons and a cake. That's just as bad as the, probably bewildered, staff creating a effigy of the dead lad.

I didn't understand the balloons and cake bit either :confused:
