Long tours away from home with unhappy spouses threatening all sorts if they go is my opinion.

Squaddies get this a lot too. Spouses go into these relationships knowing the score and then put enormous stress on you as soon as you tell them it's your job and you have to go.

She'll love the pay packets though!

Plus it just might be in the lads personality.

Something he has coped with but now isn't. For whatever reason.

Although and clearly Trott needs to get the help he needs; England are starting too look weak as water. A few fast balls and a bit of verbals and their public school nanny pamby soft as shite character is being exposed.

England need to get a f***ing grip and grow a backbone.

Maybe, but whatever the reason, the lad isn't well.

I very much doubt they would make it up. If they wanted shot, they would have dropped him.
 
They aren't soft, they aren't cissies, just maybe better checks need to be done before selecting a touring party
 
you'd always imagine Trott was a tough character but his OCD like behaviour should have been a clue. Reminds me of an old lad I shared an office with, real old school hard nut manager that ruled by fear, ex army and always immaculate. New management and new accounting system really took its toll and he just burst into tears in the office, was awful to see and made me reassess how I looked at stress, wasn't pleasant.

I love the way Trott bats, hope he's ok

I had no issues with stress at work for years, got on with everything that was thrown at me. Always thought people with stress were soft as shit.

Feb 12 boom, I was off for three weeks, sent to mental health and all because of work.

I suppose the only question mark over this is whether he should have toured in the first place. The quotes are suggesting he's been struggling with this for a while - not touring would have been far less disruptive.

That said, hope he gets well soon and back on form - vital player when he's 100%

Depression has nothing to do with growing a backbone, I've suffered myself and it's absolutely horrendous, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
