In a retirement home fire

One for yer fatha's probably although some may remember him from TMS in years gone by.

RIP

the barnacle iirc. the original brigadier block and a very good commentator, in his time

sad news

rip

I still recall him playing for Essex at the Scarborough cricket festivals in the very late 50’s, we never had a telly so as a kid of 9 year old back then to be sat on the boundary rope watching a current England player was a privilege.

The next time I saw him was when he made a guest appearance here in York during Freddie Trueman’s benefit year (1962) along with Peter May and Colin Cowdry, I still have the autograph book in the atic.

Reading the “early” reports and circumstances of his death are very sad indeed.

RIP

. Wait till the PC police of the SMB see this

If it takes them as long as me to work out what he was on about enough time will have elapsed!

I have to say I don't recognise him as a player or commentator but it's an awful thing to happen.

he was in the era of johnners, freddie trueman and so on.

70s through the 80s, not sure if he was still in the 90s

as for a player, iirc he was an all rounder, he was not an attacking batsman though
