Trai Hume

I am not saying that, we have better players for that position, he is not a midfield player, he is a bloody good defender, you are right I don't understand when we have better midfielders for that role

Which of those midfielders can cover the maverick runs of Mukiele or Geertruida by dropping into the back line? Or drop into a midfield 3 when Talbi or Le Feè try to support Brobbey further up the pitch?

That's the role he's being asked to play. Which of our midfielders can do it better?

This.

People need to actually watch the game rather than make daft decisions pre game and double down on them.
He usually provides us a very decent alternative outlet up front. He's also a solid defender. I really like the way he isn't afraid to get up there on the wing.

Today he played well, barring a few mishaps. Im surprised to see he's being scapegoated.

Think most realise he played well in a good team performance -I agree odd that fans want to have a pop after that -I might start one praising him just for balance-he was part of a midfield that dominated à very expensive Man United one

My answer would be Hume in defence and geertroida in midfield

At times today you had Mukiele and Alderete bombing forward and Gerty too like when he hit the post. You had Hume, Xhaka and Sadiki covering for them at times. Hume is a good defender a true team player. He's the ideal man to fill in holes at the back. We're a solid team, were excellent today and he was very much part of that.

If we want to progress like we're lead to believe then we need upgrades and bring in players who have more than wholeheartedl endeavour.

And we're off.......again.

The form side in the division barely laid a glove on us and he played his part in what was a good all round team performance. Some good midfield players on their side didn't get a sniff, even our defenders were able to push on from first to last and if we were let down it was our finishing that failed to deliver, not our work in midfield.

Top fella, trys mega gard and i think he cares but never a prem midfielder. Covers at RB well when we dont have the ball which I guess is why hes in the team. Going forward hes simply poor and his final ball is just not good enough.

At no point in my original post did I scapegoat him, just for the record!!!!

i understand the concept of what he's being asked to do in that position but when the team are playing like we were today it's inevitable he's going to keep popping up in attacking positions and when he did he basically fluffed his lines. not his fault as it's not his game. but given we don't create loads anyway I'm not sure we want a defensive fullback in that position

would 100% keep him but if we're trying to push on again next season he shouldn't be a regular like he has this. imo

Just to put into the mix, I am not criticising Trai, Sunderland or RLB, I am making a point I think is relevant, Trai understands SAFC, he is an outstanding defender, he is not a midfielder.

Ok, I didn't see it, sorry
Feel bad now. Don’t apologise. Offer me out on DM instead.

He played well, involved in the play loads. Seemed clear to me what he offered today - part of the reason we dominated the midfield. Can’t give us the flair of a proper winger but there’s a lot to be said for having a more defensively minded lad on one side.
