Absolute baloney. An outstanding keeper hampered by injury and judged by ridiculous standard due to his price tag.

Did he make mistakes? Aye, all keepers do, but he was very good on the whole and at times he was magnificent for us.

We’ve not had a more well rounded keeper since he left. Only Sorensen at his best was better than Gordon in the SoL era

Wholeheartedly agree mate. It's this Price-Tag, Wages thing with a lot of people, as you say. Some exceptions to the rule like, in the case of Rodwell for Instance, but. Gordon certainly wasn't one of them. IIRC, the way that the club handled his injury left a lot to be desired TBH:oops:

Surely no-one comes close to Rodwell. He was in a league of his own!

Pickford,Westwood,Poom and McLaughlin all superior to Gordon..in my opinion.

Don’t think you understand goalkeeping fella. Westwood is debatable yes, but McLaughlin is a far better keeper for Sunderland than Gordon ever was.

Don’t pretend to understand it mate but just watching the two for twenty minutes is enough to show who the better keeper is . And that’s when they play two divisions apart

Well that is a massive assumption based of nowt really, The little bit we seen of Harper he looked a good keeper, how you can know he would have been found out if he moved?

Gordon had some simply outstanding games that not sure many other keepers could have matched

1. It’s not debatable. He made 19 appearances for us and struggled to get in the side because he was average at best.
2. This is just silly and very of the time. Gordon was playing week in, week out against world class players and was superior in every department to Maclaughlin. His handling was better, his agility was better, his distribution was on altogether different level and his ability in one on one situations was world class.
